25.01.2022 This is a great documentary for those interested in our environment and climate change. Enjoy

16.01.2022 Someone questioned recently why we don’t just poison the weeds in the paddocks like nearby agistment properties. Aside from my passion for my organic blueberries we also think it is in the best interest of our horses and the broader environment. I moved a blueberry bag and found the worm in the image below. It’s a monster and a good sign of healthy soil. No poison for our property.

15.01.2022 I love this time of the year at Cavallo Park. The blueberry plants are coming to life and hopefully a big crop this year in our second year of production. With all the rain the paddocks are also nice and green.

15.01.2022 This is what we use on our property and to improve our paddocks.

13.01.2022 Despite all the rain our arenas are standing up exceptionally well despite the rest of the property being very wet. So pleased we invested in a complete renovation of both areanas a year or so ago.

13.01.2022 This is a great way to get rid of capeweed- organically. No mess as weed becomes organic matter. Soil health is improved whilst the weed and the seed bank are d...epleted. An absolute must though is to re seed if in a paddock and add organic compost to trigger grass regrowth. If the paddock is left bare nature will trigger more weed seed and weeds will return to protect the soil. We much prefer our horses to be on these grasses in the long run. See more

12.01.2022 Over the last 4 1/2 years we have put a lot of time energy and money into rejuvenating Cavallo Park Vic and have had a lot of fun along the way. It is now time for us to do it all over again somewhere else so we are packing up our blueberries and selling this beautiful property. For anyone that is interested or would like to share the link with a friend I have attached it below. https://www.realestate.com.au/property-acreage+semi-rural-v

12.01.2022 Bear being naughty and having a photo shoot in the gardens whilst Sienna picks some blueberries. Unfortunately the ones she picked never made it to the bucket. She ate them all. Not your ordinary agistment property

11.01.2022 What a great day to be riding in the indoor! Membership available for days just like today. Contact us to find out about our new membership program.

10.01.2022 Is this too many blueberries for breakfast? Our first batch of berries has arrived

08.01.2022 Great to welcome Marvin Smink and his team to our home at Cavallo Park Vic. It can’t be easy moving so many horses and so much equipment but it was all done in just a few days. All horses look to be settling in and hopefully the rain will hold off for a week or two to let the paddocks dry out. We are looking forward to seeing all the horses on the arenas getting a workout soon.

06.01.2022 I am not much of a movie maker so here is the story behind this video. Lots of rain on the #morningtonpeninsula and a few hot days equals lots of weeds. The vid...eo shows some cape weed that was steamed in a paddock 3 days after the event. That is the easy part of elimination though. The hard part is covering the dead organic matter with compost and either old remnant hay or new seed. If you don’t do the latter the weeds will be back. The soil needs a chance to heal and the new seed should ensure the earth doesn’t push up weeds to protect itself. The weeds act like a sunblock for the soil. The second part of the video shows a raspberry patch covered with weeds. I was able to steam right up to the canes and you can see how healthy the patch is a few weeks later with no weeds and therefore no competition for growth. Steam is a fantastic organic mechanism to rid yourself of unwanted weeds - just remember though that the soil does not want to be expossed so cover it up If you have garden beds, paving, veggie gardens or orchards that you want to thrive with less competition from weeds then please get in touch. No job too small and we are back at work post the COVID lockdown. Shop local on the Mornington Peninsula See more

04.01.2022 Another beautiful day steaming weeds. All schools should consider steam as their weed management strategy. This garden is being beautifully maintained on a regu...lar basis at low cost. No herbicides required for a beautiful, healthy and sustainable garden. Are your children’s schools still using poison around their grounds? If so show them this video or ask us to contact them. Visit steaming com au for more information. See more

02.01.2022 I love picking blueberries straight off the plants and eating them. Delicious. It’s going to be a good season for berries. For those interested we have also taken the property off the market. We are really enjoying it now some changes have occurred. Next step will be to rebuild the main house (STCA ) and one day add a new stable block. Hopefully the blueberries will be a contributor to the works.
