25.01.2022 Be sure to set this date aside! With a boat load of things happening across the two days (there really is too much to list here), there's something for the whole family. So head over to the Cavendish Red Gum Festival facebook page, check out all the action and come out on the 4th and 5th of April to enjoy anything and everything about the majestic Red Gum.
24.01.2022 It was all hands on deck to help the Lions Club with the Great Paper Load of 2020. A big thanks to the netballers, footballers and committee that took some time out to give a hand.
23.01.2022 Not long now... Under 11 football training is this Monday at Mitchell Park
22.01.2022 Just a reminder that Under 11 Training kick's off tonight at 4pm With that in mind, please take a moment to read the points below; There will be toilet access, but not change room access.... Check out the attached image for entry and exit points, as well as parking. Parents or caregivers MUST remain outside the boundary line and observe social distancing and we strongly recommend junior players have a maximum of 1 parent/caregiver present at training. Alcohol-based hand sanitisers will be available for all team training sessions, with players to use prior, during and following training. No high fives, handshakes, or other physical contact outside of training contact. All players and parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to download the Government’s COVID-19 tracing app. IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK!

20.01.2022 CHECKING IN We are writing this to as a means of checking in and reaching out to all our valued Members and Supporters. We also extend our support to the whole community of Cavendish, members families and extended communities. ... While we recognise and deal with the direct impact this situation has on our club, our main focus is on you all, hoping you are safe and well. It's important we remember this situation is bigger than Football and Netball itself. It impacts our health and wellbeing as a whole. Alot of people will find the uncertainty of community sport in 2020 very difficult as it plays a huge role in our lives however we are fortunate our community is extreamly supportive and will continue to be there for each other through online forums and any other means possible. We encourage anyone that needs additional support, feels like they are struggling or need anything which we may be able to help connect you too, to please send us a personal message. We don't want anyone to be doing it tough and doing doing it alone! #BLOODS2020 #buildingstrongertogether

17.01.2022 WE'RE BACK!!! On the back of the most recent "easing of restrictions", we're excited to announce that our Under 11 training will be starting back up Tuesday afternoons, from the 23rd of June at Mitchell Park (4:00 til 5:00pm). With that in mind, following are a few social distancing and hygiene measures we're bringing in to effect;... There will be toilet access, but not change room access. There will be clearly defined pick-up/drop-off zones Parents or caregivers must remain outside the boundary line and observe social distancing and we strongly recommend junior players have a maximum of 1 parent/caregiver present at training. If a player or someone they have been in contact with are sick, they are not permitted to attend any trainings and must advise the coach. Alcohol-based hand sanitisers will be available for all team training sessions, with players to use prior, during and following training. There is strictly to be no sharing of personal items such as water bottles, food or towels. Personal items need to be easily distinguishable, labelled and kept separate. Players and coaches will not spit or clear nasal passages at training. No high fives, handshakes, or other physical contact outside of training contact. All players and parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to download the Government’s COVID-19 tracing app. So if you've got some kids that are ready to break the iso-shackles and get back into some regular sport, then be sure to bring them down and join in the fun.
13.01.2022 JUNIOR FOOTBALL TRAINING Just a quick reminder that training is still scheduled for our Under 11's tonight. With so much time missed, we made the decision to keep training through holidays
11.01.2022 UPDATE// As most of our players may have already received communication already we wish to inform all members and our Cavendish Community the following: In light of current circumstances & in the best interests of our players, we are cancelling all trainings until further notice. The seasons for SWDFNL & GSWJFL have been postponed as per below and we will await further advice from AFLWD as the governance body of our league who will advise if this is expected to change. ... Coaches and Coordinators will communicate more closely during this time and we will advise our players, supporters & members of further updates as they come to hand. Please see advice from AFLWD below. Thank you for your understanding.
05.01.2022 JUNIOR FOOTBALL TRAINING After careful consideration, as a club we're looking to take the socially responsible path and press a "pause" button on the junior football training until after the school holidays. While we understand the imminent risk to children (and the broader population) is low, we also understand there are sectors of the population that will require more intensive and immediate healthcare. For this reason we've decided to play our part in trying to "...flatten the curve" (if you're not sure what this expression means, please feel free to check out the link). With a lot of water to still flow under the bridge, all going well we will return to training after school holidays. Please help pass this message along to parents of any children looking to come along and join in the fun - we will be back, but we just have to be a little bit patient and we'll keep you updated in the coming weeks. In the meantime, get the kids out kicking the footy in the back yard (albeit with social distance) and let's all seek to play our part in helping to #flattenthecurve #Lovethebloods https://www.washingtonpost.com//2/world/corona-simulator/
