18.01.2022 Today at kinder we acknowledged National Reconciliation Week by reading the story Sorry Sorry, we also watched the Playschool Acknowledgement of Country. We extended this learning by talking about some of the features and things we know about the Gunditjmara land on which we live, work and play. We practiced saying hello in the Gunditjmara language - Ngata and goodbye, Wurruk. This is just the start of our journey to learn about the traditional custodians of the land on which we come together to discover, share, care for and celebrate each other and this land. The theme of Reconciliation Week 2020 is #InThisTogether a very relevant message for current times. We look forward to learning much more!

10.01.2022 Please find attached information regarding the FREE telephone based parenting education program for parents, grandparents caring for their grandchildren and car...ers of children aged 2 to 12 years, living in Victoria. The aim of this program is to increase access for all families including fathers, grandparents, kinship carers and rural families. Participants will be provided with a workbook or online modules and will be supported by weekly 30 minute phone calls from a trained Parent Educator over a 6 to 10 week period. Appointments are available daytime and evenings. This service is funded by The Department of Health and Human Services. Please phone 1800 880 660 for further information.

07.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: The Andrews Labor Government will deliver free kinder for 2021! The Victorian Budget 2020/2021 will deliver up to $169.6 million to make kinder f...ree next year, saving families around $2,000 for every child enrolled in a participating funded kinder program. This investment will not only make sure more kids can access a great early childhood education, it will make it easier for parents particularly women to return to the workforce as we recover from the pandemic. Families with children enrolled in kinder programs at a long day care centre will also benefit from a saving of around $2000 in fees. And for those families that have kids attending unfunded three-year-old programs in sessional kindergartens, there will also be reduced fees. This is a smart investment. Not only will free kinder save families thousands of dollars it’ll get more kids into kinder, back early childhood services and workers, and help support more parents, especially women, into the workforce.
