24.01.2022 Little Jessie is growing quickly!! #jessiethewombat
24.01.2022 The perfect spot for an afternoon nap!
21.01.2022 #penguinawarenessday We house the smallest of all penguin species at the park; the Australian Little Penguin. They generally weigh a little over 1kg and stand around 40cm tall. In comparison, their Antarctic cousins can weigh around 45kg and stand over 1.2m. Sometimes called the Little Blue Penguin, our native species is found along our southern coastline, from Rockingham WA to NSW, along the Tasmanian coast, and New Zealand. There are estimated to be under 1 million Little Penguins in Australian waters. Predators include seals, orcas, sharks, sea eagles, and of course introduced pests such as foxes, cats and rats are a threat too.
21.01.2022 Not long now before our #elfontheshelfatcavershamwildlifepark returns! And this year, she comes loaded with free passes to give away!!

Today also happens to be International Zoo Keeper Day, where the dedication of animal keepers across the globe is recognized and celebrated. We love October 4th!
19.01.2022 During your visit to the park, be sure to say hi to Valentine the smiling donkey at Molly’s Farm! (This sweet boy is available for fostering - is there a more perfect stocking stuffer than a cheeky lil donkey?!)
18.01.2022 Every day between now and Christmas, the first child each day to find our #elfontheshelfatcavershamwildlifepark will get a free pass to come back again! When you spot the elf, come and see one of us to tell us where it is!
17.01.2022 A little bit of cuteness for your Friday afternoon courtesy of Keeper Cassie These precious little beauties are Brush-tailed Bettongs. Otherwise known as Woylies. Sadly they are critically endangered, due mainly to predation by feral cats and foxes.
17.01.2022 Ok folks! It’s time! These 3 joeys (all boys) need to be named! They have joined our Harry Potter crew, so we need your HP suggestions! We already have Harry, Ron, Neville, Hermione, Ginny, Dudley, Albus and Dobby. And go...
17.01.2022 Our precious Sunshine is 12 years old today! He may be an old man now, but he still has a spring in his step and a smile on his face!
14.01.2022 Did you know we have around 2000 feathered, furred and scaled friends at the park, made up of about 200 species. Everyone loves to feed the roos and meet the koalas, but be sure to explore all of the other beauties as well; like the precious gliders!
12.01.2022 It’s a tough life being so cute! #jessiethewombat
12.01.2022 A very worthy recipient of your donation!
11.01.2022 Are you looking for a unique and special gift for someone? When you foster one of our animals on someone’s behalf, or purchase a gift voucher so they can visit the park, your gift will give twice - firstly to your loved one, and secondly to us! We will be as appreciative as they will be https://foster.cavershamwildlife.com.au/

09.01.2022 This is our new addition to the Farm Show! ‘Albert’ is 3 months old. Farmer Darren picked him up earlier this week from his kelpie breeder in Arthur River. He is the nephew and great nephew of Arthur and Rusty respectively. He is part of a long line of Kelpies that we have selectively bred over 30 years. Albert’s sheep training has already begun and will take about 2 years to complete. You’ll be able to see Albert in the shed; be sure to say hi to him!
08.01.2022 Just 1 day to go until our #elfontheshelfatcavershamwildlifepark returns with freebies!

02.01.2022 When you come to visit us, be sure to check out the timetable and plan your visit so you don’t miss anything! You can get photos with a koala at 11.30am and 3.30pm. While you have a feel of their fur, our keepers will help you get lots of lovely photos! The weather this weekend looks perfect for getting outdoors
02.01.2022 So precious! (In case you’re unsure what you’re looking at this is a koala joey with his nose and hand poking out of his mum’s pouch. And if you look at it upside down, you can see his little smile )
01.01.2022 Today is World Habitat Day, and the theme is ‘Housing for all’. At AWC we believe this right to shelter extends to our native species, too. The Yellow-footed ...Rock-Wallaby (vulnerable in SA and nationally; endangered in NSW and Qld) is one of Australia’s many threatened species to have suffered the consequences of habitat alteration, fragmentation, degradation and loss. The species was once found in colonies throughout the semi-arid range country in SA, NSW and south-west Qld, but population numbers reduced drastically following European settlement. The species now has a fragmented distribution of isolated colonies separated by unsuitable habitat, as many previous colonies in between have become extinct. We play an important role in conserving this species in the central Flinders Ranges, by protecting a significant population and their habitat at Buckaringa Wildlife Sanctuary. However, just protecting suitable habitat is not enough - the species needs active threat abatement actions. Find out how we are taking and measuring such action: www.australianwildlife.org/wildl/yellow-footed-rock-wallaby W Lawler / AWC #WorldHabitatDay
