25.01.2022 My funeral service at Pinaroo for Frances Close went very well today. It was really sad for her children, my heart really went out to them, as Fran was the same age as I am, and it really bought it home to me, how very precious life is, and how important to love and care for those around us, especially our family.

25.01.2022 Three new bookings have come in, which is wonderful. In the warmer weather, which is also a plus. Looking forward to these happy times.

22.01.2022 Yesterday I officiated at a delightful wedding held locally here in Northam. I have had the sincere pleasure of marrying the mother of the family to her second husband, a lovely couple and now all three of her daughters. Lots of little girls running around, babies everywhere, absolutely gorgeous. What was best was the rain stayed away after two days of quite consistent pouring. An absolute privilege of being a part of a great family.

21.01.2022 Beautiful weather today for a delightful wedding at Mulberry Farm. Sufficient shade under a superb old tree. Delightful young couple, with happy families. Lots of wee poppetts running around doing what little ones do. All good.

21.01.2022 I have conducted two weddings in the past fortnight. Both just wonderful as always . the last wedding I married the brother of a lovely young lass I had married a year or so ago, so great family connections and good catching up with everyone.

20.01.2022 I have a wedding coming up on the 11th August, really crossing my fingers that it doesn't rain, as it has rained so much lately. I know they have a plan B which we will use if we have to, but it would be lovely, of course, outside. Fingers and toes crossed.

19.01.2022 It has been a busy week, with a wedding and a funeral, both of them were great days, everyone happy even at the funeral. I have another wedding in a couple of weeks, looking forward to that.

16.01.2022 what a great idea.

14.01.2022 Today I was asked by the York community radio to come in board and do a chat about being a celebrant which I did and it went well. It is always easy to talk about something you enjoy doing

14.01.2022 Yesterday, I spent time with a couple arranging their marriage in September. The lovely thing here, is that I married her mother, last year, and back in 2004 reaffirmed the vows of her grandparents, so it is definitely a family affair. Life is good.

13.01.2022 Over the past three months, I have picked up six weddings which is wonderful. Couples are feeling better again about going ahead with their plans, so all in all, life is good.

11.01.2022 On Wednesday, I will be conducting a funeral for a Derby lady Frances Close at Pinaroo at 11.30, for any Derby people wishing to attend. Paul Foster aka Flossie will be reading the eulogy. It will be great to catch up with some Derbyites.

11.01.2022 An early morning wedding in a hot airballoon. So romantic. Wee bit chilly and a bit of frost on the grass but up in the air, just beautiful. Such a wonderful way to celebrate your wedding. Everyone happy and that's what we want.

10.01.2022 I have two weddings coming up. Both referrals from family members whom I have previously married. That's rather nice really. Makes one feel wanted

09.01.2022 On Tuesday, I conducted a beautiful funeral here in Northam, for a truly lovely family. It was a pleasure being a part of it. Thompsons as always did a marvellous job, the weather was sunny, and the family were able to let their loved one go.

06.01.2022 My son's wedding was so delightful, everything went smoothly, lots of lovely people, the food was divine, the chocolate cake to die for, excellent and humourous speeches, everyone dancing to the band, including myself, my grandaughters made sure of that, totally wore me out, but we had a great time. Looking forward to seeing all the photos. I was truly privileged.

06.01.2022 Last Sunday, I went just down the road to the Buckland Estate, which has been reopened as a wedding venue. This old house, built in around 1853 approx, has ben beautifully kept, furnishings superb, gardens immaculate. It would certainly be a superb place to get married in, and have your reception there. Do look up Buckland, in Irishtown if you are interested. I have two weddings coming up in the near future, something to look forward to, and catch up with old friends at both of them.

05.01.2022 Buckland Homestead on Irishtown Road, was the venue for this afternoon's wedding. A beautiful old homestead, amazingly renovated for weddings. We were on the lawn at the front, it was a wee bit chilly, I felt for the bride and bridesmaids , but I think they were all too busy enjoying the day to feel the cold. We just made it to the declaration of husband and wife when it started to rain, so the last bit was rushed through, and everyone on to the verandah. The papers were signed and the couple declare as Mr and Mrs. and then it was all theirs to enjoy. The rain didn't ruin our day, just added to the experience.

01.01.2022 I have spent time with two lovely couples in recent weeks, to sign their Notice of Intention to Marry and get things under way. Now need to spend some time working out the best ceremony for them. Will make a cuppa, and get stuck into it. On Monday, I wil attend a professional development day for celebrants, an annual event which is always full of new things to learn, catching up with other celebrants, and keeping one's own knowledge up to date. Looking forward to that.
