25.01.2022 We recently installed a multi (5) aquifer Vibrating Wire (VW) Piezometer logging system from DGSI Slope Indicator to measure groundwater near Mudgee NSW. The VW borehole piezometer converts water pressure to a frequency signal via a diaphragm, a tensioned steel wire, and an electromagnetic coil. The piezometer is designed so that a change in water pressure on the diaphragm causes a change in tension of the wire. The readout device processes the signal, applies calibration factors, and displays a reading for water pressure in kPa. The one borehole had 5 sensors located in water bearing zones down to 130m.

25.01.2022 Xmas party included a visit to the escape room in Newcastle. Lots of fun, had a great time. Congrats to the Deranged Scientists who cracked the code and escaped. The other team nearly made it on the harder challenge.

25.01.2022 Working for a proposed Gold Mine, installing 4 x water flow monitoring stations and a Meteorological Station last week in Central West NSW.

21.01.2022 Our team had a great day supporting the Kaden Centre Charity Golf Day at Cypress Lakes last Friday. Many thanks to the 4 golfers who represented Cbased and Colin Davies for organising. "The Kaden Centre is a facility designed to deliver custom, targeted exercise programs to people experiencing all stages of cancer, safely prescribed and guided by exercise and health professionals. When you are released from hospital, or your rehabilitation services have finished, the Kaden Centre is there for you." (www.kadencentre.org.au)

05.01.2022 Water is a critical resource and Cbased has recently installed an Evaporation monitor at a major mine in NSW to better understand water loss to the atmosphere. It's interesting to note that the NSW mining Industry used just 1.5 percent of total water consumed in NSW in 2015-16. (compared with 60 percent used by agriculture and 11 percent by households).

04.01.2022 Cbased - expanding into metalliferous mining - Visited an Underground Gold Mine in Central Victoria last week to work on their air quality monitoring system using Beta Attenuation (BAM) and Tapered Element Oscillating microbalance (TEOM) monitors.

01.01.2022 Recently Installed another Internet based weather station for a hard rock quarry at Willow Tree to meet NSW Environmental Protection Requirements.
