25.01.2022 The bushfires of last summer were ferocious and devastating. It seemed nowhere was immune from the fires. Our wonderful CFS volunteers were putting their lives at risk fighting the fires, with great courage. Have you thought how you would cope if a bushfire came our way down in Clayton Bay? Many of us think we are in a safe zone, but after last summer, are we really? Eve Keam, CFS community engagement officer is doing 2 workshops on being Bushfire Ready. Details are on the poster. There is information around Clayton Bay as well. Registrations need to be done online following the link. If you would like assistance with registration call Ruth on 0431 094 635. There is a limit on numbers so we would appreciate you registering ASAP After the conclusion of the workshop, we will have a light afternoon tea and supper.

24.01.2022 Pizza and Movie night tomorrow. Looks like pretty good weather! Last night to sit around a firepit. Reminder to please bring a picnic table and chairs if you have them, and probably mozzie spray too!

24.01.2022 Our very own! Good on you Letho.

23.01.2022 The Southern Bell Frog population in Clayton Bay increased by 4 today! The frog family in the photo were created by Pat Ingleton and presented to Peter Mirtschi...n during morning tea at the nursery. Pat and her Ping pots are well known in the area due the number of people who have purchased her unique creations and/or been guided by her to make their own creations. Not only that but Pat also brought a scrumptious spread of savoury scones that were unanimously ranked amongst the best people had ever tasted. Given our reputation for putting together terrific morning teas, that is some accolade. We are nearing the end of our planting adjacent to the drains around the Foreshore, with possibly only one more Tuesday required. If you are around Clayton Bay next Tuesday, 29th July, we invite you to join us. We begin at 9 and pack up in time for morning tea at 10.30am. Come and join us.

12.01.2022 Spring has sprung or rather, bounced, as is the case for our Southern Bell Frog project at Clayton Bay in SA. This week, 32 Southern Bell Frogs that have been... carefully raised from tadpoles and monitored in a hatchery since the tadpole stage will be placed outside into natural breeding pens. It is there we hope they will breed and produce eggs that will be the next generation of Southern Bell Frogs. Once eggs are laid, they will be moved to the hatchery and nurtured through to tadpoles and then froglets, a stage at which they will be released into the wild at strategic locations. The Southern Bell Frog project is unique in South Australia and will build on the excellent work of our on-ground partners, Clayton Bay Nursery and Environment Group and Clayton Bay Community Association Inc who are revegetating parts of our local area. For more information on the Southern Bell Frog project, visit the project page of the website. Photos: Aquasave-Nature Glenelg Trust Nature Glenelg Trust
