25.01.2022 OUR LADYS MOUNT REUNION 2018 BREAKING NEWS... The venue for the 2018 OLM Old Boys reunion will be on the 25th August at the West End hotel. Commencing from 1100. The delay in the venue changes came about because the old Victoria Park Hotel burnt down and pressure was added onto the Commonwealth Hotel for social bookings. I also have an inkling that the Commonwealth Hotel may be either closing down or planning renovations. The rear beer garden has had the shelter removed whic...h would limit the amount of shade/protection. I tried other hotels in South Townsville, however, I believe the West End Hotel (opposite the Showgrounds) to be the most suitable. I hope this helps everyone. There is also a possibility of there being two rooms in the hotel to rent for those wanting to be closer to the venue - be early to let me know. As with inviting guests, please let Denis, Kerry or myself know if you are inviting someone. We do not want to let this reunion be a general Old Boys reunion, but, rather keep it as per last year’s reunion, with invitations coming from us. If you have any questions or need help, please let one of the team know and we will do our best to assist. Best wishes, David, Kerry and Denis. The Reunion Team See more

24.01.2022 Thank you all for the messages of appreciation we are receiving, David and I appreciate the credit, but the effort everyone made to attend was thanks enough, we can all pat ourselves on the back. For some if not all, there were a lot of misgivings about attending but it was never about bad experiences but the mateship and common bond we all shared. What I noticed and I expect everyone else did too, was in how instantly relaxed and at ease we were with each other and how genu...inely pleased we were to be in each others company. Pretty amazing for a 50 odd year break. You could not plan that, for me it was a priceless experience never to be repeated no matter many reunions we hold after this. Best wishes for the future, See you next year. David and Denis

Looking forward to catching up with you all next year under the new management of Ducky O’Donnell. Ho Ho Ho David PS. Thank you to Denis n Kerry for your help during the year with the reunion n photos n to all those that attended with your wives n partners, give yourself a pat on the back as it was very successful n appreciated.

21.01.2022 OLM REUNION 10/6/17 GROUP PHOTO'S, not much difference!!!!!

20.01.2022 Some photos from the August 2018 OLM Reunion.

17.01.2022 CHRISTMAS DRINKS Hi everyone, I’m a bit slack this year, however, it has become urgent that I get this out now. As I left myself short of time I have nominated Saturday 22nd December from 1200 as a date for Chrissie drinks. The West End Hotel - Ingham Road, proved itself as a good venue for the last reunion so lets have our drinks there as well.... Any out-of-towners that are unable to make it, however, will be in Townsville over the Christmas period (or any period for that matter) please let me know n I will attempt to have a small gathering while you are up this way. It is good to catch up for a chin-wag. Would you please let me know if you are attending -OR NOT, so I have an idea of the numbers. You only have to drop in for a drink, an hour or until you are able to crawl home. Looking forward to catching up. David PS. Bernie, did you find those photos?

16.01.2022 David Hancock is organising another OLM reunion in August this year for all those interested. David recently sent out emails to those on our mailing list but some have been returned as undeliverable so if you are interested please contact David or myself for details. We both realise that it’s short notice and that if we didn’t do anything now nothing would happen.... A big chance for those who couldn’t attend last year. David is working on the dates and venue now and we’ll post as soon as possible. We are happy to have other classes attend this time as there are quite a few classmates who knocked around after they left school or even did apprenticeships together. More to follow.......

13.01.2022 More from our 2017 reunion - trip to Ignatius Park photos.

13.01.2022 For those who missed the email.... IT’S TIME.. Too start getting ready for our next OLM Reunion. I’ve set August for our next reunion n the Commonwealth or Victoria Park Hotels as the venue. I’ll set a date when I receive feedback from those that have certain days in August already tied up.... Some of the Townsville events on during August in Townsville are: 4AUG Italian Festival - Ingham 4AUG Lez Zeppelin 9AUG Cowboys V Broncos 17-19AUG Townsville Cultural Festival 23AUG Les Miserables Would you please get back to myself or Denis if attending or not attending - it is much easier to organise when we have the numbers, ta. We are hoping that all the ones that attended last year as well as those that were unable to make it. The feedback we received was that it was a great day n we hope to do it again. Remember, if you don’t make it, we will talk about you. The other issue I in particularly have is the reunion book that I said I would produce. Well I shelved the idea n resurrected the plan so many time over the the past ten months that it raised it head again n I decided to look at an easier way of doing it. Thank you to all of those that contributed photos of the day. With many thanks to Kerry Smith who has produced a link for everyone to go into n select their photos. About forty of these photos now have captions to brighten up the occasion. Instead of a nightmare admin solution of one person doing up a book, arranging costs n mailing it was decided to produce the photos n allow each one of us select the photos we want n produce our own reunion book. That way, everyone can choose the photos they want n if you are like Denis, 98% of the photos will include himself - just joking. I don’t think we have, but, if anyone is missed in these photos, let Kerry know so he can adds them to the link. Kerry n his lovely wife are off for 6 - 7 weeks to Europe from the 29th May, so let him know early. Well mates, please let Denis or myself know as early as possible n looking forward to catching up again. The link: https://www.dropbox.com//lcv67l/AADePSYZm1Zk0J1wkDc42OCwa

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, I haven’t posted in a while but my old schoolmate David Hancock Just informed me of the passing of Jimmy Kern’s brother John, I’m so sorry Jim, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. David’s, email, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind me sharing it, Best wishes all, Denis.... It is with regret that I advise you all of the passing on of Jim Kern’s brother John. Jim n his family recently suffered the loss of their mother and to add another unfortunate death at such a short time after Beryl’s death is quiet sad. If any pass class mates can attend the celebration of John’s life it would be appreciated. David Hancock

08.01.2022 Hi David Thanks for your email. Our Lady's Mount is certainly a very important part of Ignatius Park's history. The College wouldn't exist without Our Lady's Mount and the students are very much part of the 'Iggy' community and are definitely considered Iggy Old Boys too....Continue reading

06.01.2022 Kerry Smith, OLM Class of 63-66 I don't think the other bloke was in our class, I didn't see him at the reunion.

06.01.2022 Can anyone help Greg out

04.01.2022 Hi, I have only joined IPC web page after learning about its 50 year celebrations. My name is David Hancock n I am an Old Boy from Our Lady’s Mount College, Stanton Hill, Townsville. About three years ago I - with the help of Denis Ward n Kerry Smith, arranged a reunion in 2017 from our old class mates where most of us had not heard, seen or even spoke to our old class mates since our years in the early 60’s. Father Tom Ivett was one of our class mates, if that reflects on ...our timeline. There is also another group of OLM Old Boys who have annual meetings n I believe that the person running that is Peter Dunn. Denis Ward has opened a Facebook page under Our Lady’s Mount,Townsville which has old photos of classes n students. Our group has shown an interest in the Iggy Park 50 years celebration program, n I am presently canvassing our group on their interest in attending. I am forwarding this email because on your web site you requested Iggy Old Boys - Where are You Now. I also would like to mention that the Our Lady’s Mount era should not be forgotten n just maybe, Iggy Park Old Boys may be able to include us somehow and I look forward to maybe some future conversation. I am working on the OLM College Old Boys to attend Iggy Park’s 50 years celebrations. We look forward to Iggy Park continuing with their progression of our old OLM College ethos n admire the changes made from our old days. Regards David Hancock

01.01.2022 Hi Greg, I knew I had the classmate names somewhere, my cousin Geoff Brown had them in his office at Ignatius Park. We took photos of them in 2017 when we had our reunion.
