25.01.2022 Bats are a hugh problem here at the moment but it's not only the noise and the smell you need to worry about. Bat droppings are deadly to your car's paint, even more so than bird droppings. If you see bat droppings on your car remove it immediately. Do not let it sit even for a day as it can easily etch your surface and ruin it. Even with paint protection although paint protection will make it easier to wash off. Always wet it 1st or hose off. Don't wipe it or brush it for best results.

23.01.2022 Time to prepare your car for summer. Our extreme heat damages your paint, trim and leather. But a small investment now can save your car and you considerably money when it come time to sell or trade. An added bonus is your car will look brilliant www.facebook.com/cbfclean

23.01.2022 What is car detailing? It's a question we hear frequently. Detailing is a term many people have seen, but they may never have heard a proper explanation of what it is, or what you should expect from detailing. Often, people think that car wash and car detail are the same thing read on to discover why that's not the case. Detailing involves a thorough cleaning and reconditioning of both the interior and exterior of your vehicle. It is a meticulous step-by-step process... to restore your vehicle’s beauty and protect your investment. How to know what type of car detailing you’re getting Because what’s included in a detailing service can vary, an important consideration is to determine the specific services that you want to have performed on your vehicle. There may be different detailing packages available that vary in cost. There are no uniform guidelines for the detailing industry. This means you may encounter wide variations in service packaging and pricing. Contributing factors to these variations can include different levels of training, quality of service, professionalism and the products and equipment utilized. Why do I need car detailing? The single most important aspect of auto detailing is your vehicle's need for protection from the elements. A common misconception is that a vehicle's "clear coat" protects the exterior finish, so that regular maintenance is not required. In reality, a wax coat should be applied at least three a year to the painted surfaces to protect the finish from contaminates and oxidation or a Polymer coating Twice a year. Although some dealerships offer an extra protection package for the vehicle at the time of purchase, this should not be considered a permanent solution. A well-done car detailing job can make your car shine. A thorough and high-quality detailing job should average several hours, depending on the condition of the vehicle being detailed. The results of a detailing job will also vary, based on the level of service provided and the age or condition of the vehicle. You should expect that every detail of your vehicle will be assessed and cleaned, including all cracks and crevices. As with any business you get what you pay for, cheap detailing is seldom good and good detailing is seldom cheap. Whether you've just purchased a previously owned vehicle, are getting ready to sell your car or simply want to have your vehicle looking great again by restoring its original beauty, professional auto detailing can take your vehicle from ordinary to extraordinary. www.Phills-Detailing.com.au

21.01.2022 When I quote I mention we have a few options for bringing out the best results for your paintwork. The reason why we have options is because not all finishes produce the same result. Here is an example one car has done over 50000 kms is in Pearl White the other in a Metallic dark silver. The Pearl car was finished with a white carnauba wax and polymer sealant. I did this to highlight the natural luster of the pearl finish and still hold a good gloss. The metallic paint was finished with a high grade polymer. This was done to give it that sharp high gloss and highly reflective finish. This is only one reason why I insist on inspecting your car before pricing. The fact is I really don't know "what will be needed until I've seen it. www.phills-detailing.com.au

19.01.2022 When I started out in the early 1980s I detailed bikes. I didn't move to cars until the mid 1990s. I don't normally do bikes anymore because it aggravates a back problem. A mate asked if I would detail his bike as he wants to trade it in this weekend in Brisbane. So always happy to help a mate. Not bad for doing 69000km's If you need to know I used a yellow carnauba wax to get the red to really pop.

17.01.2022 Car detailing is an unregulated industry. There is no minimum requirement, give someone a bucket and sponge and he is a detailer. As a professional detailer I have trouble understanding this but that is how it is. As the old saying goes , you get what you pay for. A basic detail takes around 6 hours. More in depth details may take all day or even a couple of days. If you want your car professional detailed give us a call. www.phills-detaling.com.au

16.01.2022 Why do we have to look at a car to quote? That is a reasonable question and I'll do my best to explain. First there are two types of detailers fixed price and those that quote. Fixed price delivers one service that they try to get done in roughly 2 hours. Wash, vacuum, tyre gel and throw some shiny stuff on the trim. Requires no training and is worth about $60 but usually cost a lot more. A detailer needs to quote because they provide multiple options each option has a cost... and time frame. They need to inspect a car to be able to determine the best course of action to bring out the best finish for the client. These options are numerous. For example modern carpet is usually a nylon and difficult to vacuum. When we inspect we determine if we need to use a blower, vacuum, steamer or an extraction unit or in some cases all of them. A carpet impregnated with grass and dirt can take up to 4 hours to clean. A carpet that is well looked after still requires a good hour. A detailer has multiply options for every inch of your car some options vary in price and time required to complete. This is why a detailer finds it very difficult to or simply don't give a price without an inspection. A real positive for the client is they get to discuss what they would like or think they need and their detailer will help them achieve the best possible finish. A good detail takes a minimum of 6 hours on a reasonably tidy car. If it's in poor condition and requires intensive work it can take a couple of days. A good detail is not cheap and a cheap detail is not necessarily good. See more

12.01.2022 A sad fact about being a detailer is that you you can't be bothered detailing your own car or at least I can't. Unfortunately for me walking behind my car the other day I noticed my tail lights were totally shot. The plastic was peeling of in layers the result of years sitting in the sun. My first thought was I'll have to buy new ones but by the time I got home I figured I was being lazy and should repair them and while I was at it I may as well do the headlights. Not at all ...100% sure they could be restored I decided to have a go at them today. Just so you know it takes time. There are three stages of sanding, two stages of polishing and a final stage to seal them with a uv protectant. Each and every stage is as important as the last, you take a shortcut on any of them and your restoration will only be temporary. Three to nine months and you'll be back where you started. Works done and I'm pleased to say they turned out better than I expected. So time will tell how successful I was. I expect the restoration to last a few years at least. See more

12.01.2022 We have been looking after this Mustang from new. It is a little over two years old now. Last week it was in for a full detail the surface was resealed and the interior had a leather treatment. You will notice in the pics that the stripes have been masked. This has to be done whenever you are waxing, sealing or polishing, if the stripes have a matte or satin finish. Normal waxes ect..will leave white marks on a matte surface and it is almost impossible to remove. Keep this in mind if you are looking after your own.

09.01.2022 Christmas break is just around the corner and I'm already being booked for December. If you are thinking of getting the car detailed for the holidays consider booking early as others already have. https://www.facebook.com/cbfclean

06.01.2022 It's a New Year at Phills-Detailing and we are introducing a couple of new options that we believe will be well received. Firstly, after a decent trial period our main wash will now be both scratchless and rinseless. This is not only a better clean for your car but also uses only a third of the water of a traditional wash. Secondly we are introducing a steam cleaning option and increasing our anti-bacterial cleaning options. Thirdly we can now accept payment via ZIP Pay .

05.01.2022 Since I started detailing in Chinchilla I have had to make few changes as to how I use water. Originally used town water but found it was not suitable as it caused problems such as water spotting. Not a huge problem but adds to the time frame. Add water restrictions to the mix and it is unworkable. We moved over to tank water to solve these problems. Now the lack of rain is impacting us as it is most people in the region. In an attempt to lesson the amount of water required w...e've looked at waterless wash and rinseless washes. Waterless wash has had some good results but can cause micro maring, those fine lines you can see in direct sunlight. Not good enough in my opinion. If clients want the cars scratched there are plenty of other detailers around who seem happy to do that. Rinseless washing has turned out to be a good alternative to normal scratchless wash and only uses ~20L. It works be incorporating the latest in Polymer technology and is 100% soapless. In the simplest terms it works by attracting dirt, lifting it from the surface and then encapsulating it in a highly lubricated cell. This is then wiped away without rinsing or scratching. This method is time consuming however does use very little water and doesn't scratch. It also means we can keep working, while we wait for rain, and still provide the quality work we are noted for. The following pictures are of one of the vehicles cleaned using this method. See more

05.01.2022 Summer heat is destructive on your interior trim and leather. To prevent premature cracking and fading it pays to keep these areas conditioned. Phills-Detailing is offering this summer 50% of both leather seat conditioning or spot shampooing of fabric seats this summer with any Essential Detail. All pricing discussed during your free quote.

05.01.2022 Phills - Detailing had an old XR6 in the other day, a shade under 200000 kms, looking at a full detail. Heavily scratched aswell as damaged clear coat. The owner asked that I just do the best I could. You may be surprised what a proffesional detailer can do for you if given the time to renew your vehicle correctly. This took two days but no doubt worth the efffort and the cost.

02.01.2022 Nice to work on something a little different from my usual 4X4's

02.01.2022 This is about the worst of seen, however, this can happen if you use a rotary buffer and don't know what your doing. This was apparently done by a so called detailer. So do yourself a favour and make sure whoever is detailing your car actually knows what their doing. Ask questions, check their work and most of all their experience.
