25.01.2022 Were pleased to announce Helen Woodhams from Kojonup has been elected as our District 4 Member Director and will be joining the CBH Board on 10 August. Originally from an Esperance farming family, Helen has been running a farming operation in the Kojonup and Woodanilling Shires for the past 27 years. Helen has been serving as Deputy Chair on the CBH Growers Advisory Council and in her earlier years worked on the frontline as a Harvest Casual. Congratulations Helen!
24.01.2022 CBH FLASHBACK On this day in 1966, we officially opened our Cunderdin and Avon receival sites. At the time, our Cunderdin site was built to store more than 23,000 tonnes of wheat in its horizontal storage and two silos. It now has a storage capacity of 160,000 tonnes. ... Eight concrete vertical concrete cells were officially opened at our Avon site on the same day, with capacity to store 17,400 tonnes of wheat. Avon now has storage capacity of close to 300,000 tonnes! The sites were opened by the Agriculture Minister of the day, the Honorable Crawford Nalder. Can anyone remember attending the opening events? #yourcoop #yourhistory
23.01.2022 CBH FLASHBACK Tomorrow, were joining growers at Moora to celebrate the construction of an extra 132,000 tonnes of new permanent storage at our Moora receival site. The Moora site has come a long way since this picture was taken in 1937 when WA growers were transitioning from the use of wheat bags to a bulk handling scheme.... Introduced in the 1930s, bulk handling revolutionised the grain industry in WA, making things a lot more efficient and a lot less back-breaking for growers across the state #yourcoop #yourhistory
23.01.2022 Weve joined forces with 4 leading mental health service organisations in a new 3-year $600,000 partnership to improve the mental health of Western Australian regional communities. Lifeline WA, Youth Focus, MIFWA - Mental Illness Fellowship of Western Australia and Black Dog Institute will become part of the CBH Regional Mental Wellness Program, which was established in 2015 and aims to increase access to mental health services across our grain growing communities. Watch our video to meet our partners and hear about the activities they will deliver as part of the program, and visit our website for more information.
23.01.2022 Its all systems go at our Moora storage expansion project. Were adding 132,000 tonnes of permanent storage to the site via 4 open bulkheads that will be serviced by 2 conveyors and 2 auger pits at an increased inloading rate of 500 tonnes per hour. The existing marshalling area will also be resurfaced to help with traffic flow, and a new weighbridge will be installed. The photos show how much the site has changed since February 2020. Its all part of our ongoing investment into the network so that it benefits all growers now and for future generations.

23.01.2022 CBH FLASHBACK On this day 89 years ago, the first Western Australian bulk wheat delivery was made by Mr H Threlfall. The 55-bushel delivery was made in the Wyalkatchem area, at our old Korrelocking siding, with two further deliveries made on the same day at the site. ... The West Australian newspaper quoted on the day: The farmers are enthusiastic concerning the bulk handling scheme, and there seems to be no doubt that once they become used to this method of delivery it will prove a great benefit to all concerned. They weren't wrong! #yourcoop #yourhistory

22.01.2022 Have you ever wondered why our receival site at Dalwallinu is named McLevie? The site was named in honour of Bob McLevie, who spent 32 years working for CBH. Bob was first employed in 1935 to work on grain storage at Dalwallinu, later working at several sites across the wheatbelt.... Bob spent many hours on weekends and during the night loading grain, lining rail wagons, sampling grain, mending belts and chutes, and moving elevators becoming a legend of the co-op. His relatives went on to be associated with CBH for many years, with 18 family members across three generations serving the co-operative over a combined total of 226 years and 263 harvests! #CBHflashback #yourco-op #yourhistory
22.01.2022 To recognise National Agriculture Day we’re celebrating this important time of year for our growers and our co-operative our State’s grain harvest. 19.01.2022 With our harvest recruitment program in full swing we checked in on some of our casuals who return year on year to find out why. This is Claire, who is coming up to her sixth season with CBH after starting during the 2015/16 harvest. She works at our Moora site and has done stints at Miling and Piawaning a couple times over the years. As a business student she loves providing back to the agricultural sector which is such an important part of our economy. She said the shifts can feel long and the work is hard, but the people you meet and the friends you make helps the time fly by. Applications are open for the upcoming season so if you want to join Claire and the rest of our harvest team, apply online now at https://careers.cbh.com.au/
