21.01.2022 Advantages of Technology & Remote Working during uncertain times such as the impact of coronavirus CBT Institute training is based on the UK Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) program. This aims to offer service users evidence-based psychological therapies for common mental health problems. A key part of the programme has been developing a competent workforce with services measured by clinical recovery and not just by short waiting lists. In Australia, CBTi h...as adapted IAPT training with initiatives such as beyondblue’s NewAcces program using remote technology to cover vast distances. https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/newaccess This means that during the coronavirus crisis services can continue to operate even when workers and users are in isolation. LiCBT Coaches can deliver interventions by phone or video-link online and access a consultant supervisor in the same way, across Australia’s vast distances. 19.01.2022 CBTi was delighted to be back in Canberra in January 2020, with a new cohort of psychologists starting their 1yr high-intensity CBT (HiCBT) training course. This is the 5th cohort of HiCBT trainees that CBTi has trained for Catholic Care Canberra & Goulburn since 2017 and we are so pleased with the ongoing evolution of psychological stepped-care services in Capital Health Network. Thanks very much to the team at Catholic Care Red Hill for hosting us for the week. 05.01.2022 CBT Institute Team Day 12th March 2020 Luckily members of the CBTi from across Australia were able to catch up at the Science Exchange in Adelaide before the corvid 19 virus outbreak and travel restrictions. CBTi consultant Julianne Watson spoke on maintaining fidelity in clinical supervision... CBTi Director Dominic Gallagher spoke on supervision for experienced practitioners CBTi consultant Brendan Koivu introduces his recent developments in building an online training portal and learning platform. A productive and engaging day, with exciting new developments and another busy year ahead.
