Trivia Master Mike Jury from Triviality is hosting his well renown pub trivia night right in the comfort of your own home via video conference on Zoom. Mike is the official Trivia Master for the 2020 Central Coast Comicon Pop Culture Trivia Night, which unfortunately has been postponed until later this year. 18.01.2022 This week is Youth Week in NSW (April 1-9) and to celebrate the young people in our community we have created a competition perfect for social isolation! This year we are running a costume design competition exclusively to Central Coast High School Students. The winning costume will not only win a creative prize pack for the designer/design team it will also be awarded with a $500 Donation* for their High School's Creative Arts Department!... Who: This competition is open exclusively to Central Coast High School Students. This could be offered to Textile/Fashion/Design classes, could be run as an individual/group class project, or completed as an extra curricular activity. Themes: From period dramas, medieval armour, Japanese anime, steam punk or sci-fi fantasy the options are open and endless, you could even create your own original character. Criteria: Any materials could be used but we ask that 90% of the costume is handmade. This could include the assembly or re-purpose or recycled items. Please see the full Cosplay Competition terms and conditions found at our website for further information and judging criteria. Submit: Registrations are opening on the 20th of April!To submit a costume design in this competition you will need to fill in our registration form at https://www.cccomicon.com.au/high-school-cosplay-comp Please note if you are under the age of 16 you will need to have consent from (and supply contact details for) a parent/caregiver. In your online submission you will need to upload photos of your design and give a brief description of its creation, and design processes. Close of registrations date to be confirmed. Wear and Share: We would love for you to share videos or photo content of your designing/creating process and the finished design to social media. Tag Central Coast Comicon and use the hashtag #CCCHIGHSCHOOLCOSPLAY. This is not a compulsory part of the competition, however video content may assist judges in scoring functionality of design. Ultimately we would love for you to wear your Cosplay on the day at Central Coast Comicon and this is where our winning design will be announced. *Please note that the $500 donation will be presented to the winning designer(s) High School in the form of a prepaid Visa credit card to the value of $500.

16.01.2022 EVENT POSTPONEMENT Central Coast Comicon take the health and safety of our attendees, vendors, entertainers, volunteers and staff very seriously. As you are no doubt aware, COVID-19 is a quickly-evolving global situation and is jeopardising public events. After discussions the organising committee for Central Coast Comicon have decided to postpone the 2020 event until later in the year. We will follow the government health guidelines closely over the upcoming weeks and mont...hs and use their information to confirm a new date when it is safe for everyone involved. If you have purchased tickets for Central Coast Comicon, the Trivia Night or After Party, these will still be valid for our future events that will be re-scheduled for later in the year. (All dates to be confirmed) If you would like a full refund for your ticket purchases please email [email protected] with your name and ticket information, including the email address you used to purchase the tickets, and we will endeavour to process your refund as soon as possible. For all stall holders. Your application is still valid for the future event to be held later this year, however if you would like to withdraw and require a full refund or for more information please refer to our event partner Fixx Events or www.fixxevents.com.au. We are disappointed to deliver this news to our community but would like to assure everyone we will do everything we can to bring back Central Coast Comicon for 2020 and with an extended planning period it will be sure to better than ever before. 15.01.2022 We would love to give everyone something to look forward to by announcing the proposed new date for Central Coast Comicon 2020. Truth is, no-one has a crystal ball to predict when we will be allowed to come together as a community again. What we can tell you is that Central Coast Comicon 2020 will hopefully be taking place late this year pending on the covid19 crisis and government restrictions. Meanwhile STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY & STAY AT HOME so this pandemic can pass and we can get together and celebrate!

13.01.2022 It's with great disappointment we announce that we have no choice but to cancel our Central Coast Comicon 2020 event at The Entertainment Grounds due to the public health restrictions on mass gathering events. We had hoped at the beginning of this crazy saga we call COVID-19, that we would be back to normality by now and a November event would be possible. But unfortunately, this is not to be. We realise that Central Coast Comicon is an important event for our local artists,... authors, entertainers and vendors to trade and showcase so we will provide opportunities for this to happen in an online capacity. Central Coast Comicon is the annual major fundraiser for RYSS - Regional Youth Support Services and a highly anticipated event for all lovers of pop culture in the Central Coast Community.
