05.01.2022 Reports that our River Red Gum have been cut down are not true. A Council officer visited the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) 2019 Victorian Tree of the... Year winner 20 minutes ago and snapped this photo of the tree happily enjoying today’s beautiful sunshine. Manningham Council is committed to protecting and preserving our city’s environmental and cultural heritage. The River Red Gum located at 39 Bridge Street is culturally and environmentally significant to Manningham. As a part of our North East Link EES submission we’ve asked NELP to consider redesigning the road around this significant tree.
