25.01.2022 More news about the divisive deep water port mooted for Qualing Pool at the north end of Pebble Beach. Locals will be familiar with this popular gathering place, special for its squidding, sheltered launching spot, and of course the dugongs that frequent the area. Can you imagine a 900m wharf here? Or the dredging required to accommodate up to six 300m ships with a draft of 12m? Did you know GGL wants 600 acres of native bushland including the current site of the wildlife Care Group? And what about Qualing Pool itself, the most significant fresh water site on the Gulf coast? Rest assured, this project has a long way to go GGL doesn't even have a formal proposal to present yet. For now, this is just a brochure and a website. Watch this space!

24.01.2022 CCG is so proud to have been able to support Saturday's community action against GGL's deep water port proposal. A great reminder of how important Exmouth Gulf is and how much locals love it.

17.01.2022 CCG's members are keen to keep locals aware of recycling opportunities in town and have created a comprehensive list of items that can be recycled in Exmouth. It's downloadable, and the list will be updated every few months. https://ccg.org.au/recycling/ Recycling is important, but the big challenge is to change our habits so that we reduce waste. First up, let's refuse, reduce, reuse and repurpose items, and when it can't be avoided then recycle it! Challenge your throwaway habits enough and you'll almost certainly see a reduction in the waste created at home.

16.01.2022 It doesn't take much to help reduce our impact on the environment and Containers For Change is a great way to support recycling in Exmouth. The ABC Foundation has a mobile service in Exmouth that will operate every Saturday at 10 Huston St, from 8:00 to 10:30am. Sign up before you go and find out more about what you can recycle on the link below. https://www.containersforchange.com.au/wa/how-it-works

15.01.2022 What an incredible experience it was to be out on beautiful Exmouth Gulf yesterday with this pod of six tropical orcas as they headed north. CCG Treasurer and Cetrec WA guru John Totterdell took DNA samples and ID pics while overhead Gav Penfold got these amazing images courtesy of Birds Eye View Ningaloo. How precious is our Gulf!

14.01.2022 The Minderoo Foundation Exmouth Research Laboratory (MERL) is having a locals 'sneak peak' night Whalebone Brewing Company next Tuesday. The MERL will be opening it's doors next year, but there are a few things on the go a bit later this year. If you're interested in hearing about the how the refit is progressing and what the first research projects are, then don't miss it.

14.01.2022 After pushing for so many years to get some form of recycling and container deposit scheme working in Exmouth, it was great for CCG members to deliver 2,418 containers to the ABC Foundation’s mobile collection scheme today. Thanks to Helen Jessop, Emma Johnson, John Totterdell, Kanae Hasegawa, Corinna Belsar, Glen, Andre and Nush for showing up and being a part of making this happen. We'd also like to thank Jamie Parkinson Exmouth Crane Hire for generously providing the skip bin so that containers could be saved for so many years at John's place. And finally, a big shout to Tony Howard for his foresight in starting this initiative so long ago! The Containers for Change has been such a welcome development. Let’s hope our Shire can take the lead and introduce recycling at a more comprehensive scale very soon!

11.01.2022 Make sure you don't miss the opportunity to comment on why Exmouth Gulf is important to you. Closes Wednesday 11 November 2020.

07.01.2022 Please take 10 minutes to complete the Shire of Exmouth Community Perception Survey.

06.01.2022 EXMOUTH! Thank you so much! Tix moving quick! @frothcraft // @protectningaloo // @allbreedagency

03.01.2022 Have your say about cumulative impacts of industrialising Exmouth Gulf. All development decisions have been put on hold until the EPA investigates the broader impacts of industrialisation. Why do you value the Gulf? How do you use it? What will further industrial impacts mean for you, your family, and the community? This isn't limited to the Subsea 7 Pipeline Fabrication Facility proposal at Heron Point or the Shire's efforts to rezone that land. This process may also inform its decision about the Ashburton Salt proposal and the 1km deep water port proposed at Qualing Pool next to Squid Rock. Comment closes 11 November! https://consultation.epa.wa.gov.au//epa-strategic-advice-/

01.01.2022 Exmouth Gulf is one of the world's last strongholds for endangered sawfish. Today is International Sawfish Day, a reminder of what we have in our front yard and how precious it all is.
