I am here to help in any way with the organisation of your Speech Pathology appointments. I can assist with booking your appointments, giving information, and answering any questions. 18.01.2022 Meet our admin team! Hi, I’m Alison and I am the Accounts/Admin Assistant here at Communicate Connect Speech Pathology. I have been working at this speech pathology practice for over 4 year and have seen it grown. I have been in different Administration roles for nearly 30 years including Finance, Medical Education and now Speech Pathology. I have a special interest in finance, accounts administration, being organised and organising others. I enjoy creating spreadsheets to keep everything running smoothly. My other interests include the Ballet, going to Musicals, watching movies and mind relaxing Apps such as Pixel Art, Word Search and Numberzilla.

17.01.2022 At Communicate Connect Speech we use a program called PECS ‘Picture Exchange Communication System’. It is used to assist people in communication who are unable to do so through speech. PECS Is an augmentative and alternative communication that involves the physical exchange of pictures to communicate.

04.01.2022 Hello, my name is Madonna and I am a Speech Pathologist at Communicate Connect / Ability for Disability Speech Pathology. I graduated from The University of Newcastle with Honours. I am a mum of three children and my speech pathology experience has been both as a clinician and as a parent of children who have benefited from speech pathology. Each day, I have the pleasure to meet and interact with families, care-givers, staff and our wonderful clients. I support children, teen...agers and adults in assessment and therapy, including speech, swallowing, fluency, language, social skills and AAC. I also provide training for parents, staff, and our clients in topics ranging from homework for speech, voice, language and stuttering, and training staff in swallowing. I manage a wide case-load with a variety of diagnoses including chronic cough, selective mutism, Parkinson's Disease, Angelman's Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Huntington's Disease, Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, Borjeson-Forssman-Lehmann syndrome, amongst others. I am a member of our professional body Speech Pathology Australia, and enjoy keeping up with continuous professional development. One of my more recent development experiences was the completion of a swallow course for persons with complex needs, and my next opportunity is an upcoming seminar on adolescents with language disorders. I enjoy the opportunity to work with clients and their families and care-givers, alongside a range of professionals including other allied health professionals, teachers, GP's, and support staff. This experience has supported furthering my knowledge for clients and in individualising care for each client for their own unique needs. I look forward to welcoming you to our services.

I have experience working with children and adults with complex communication needs including those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, stroke, inconsistent speech sound disorder in children, dyspraxia, speech and language delays. I am passionate about partnering with families, carers and education partners to deliver effective treatments and suppor...t programs for person centred assessment and therapy with the implementation of the persons goals. My aim is for my clients to carry over their newly learnt skills into their everyday life. I always hope that I am making a positive difference to the lives of their children and people in their care. I have had opportunity to participate in a wide range of professional development including; PODD Certification, Aphasia therapy workshops, Derbyshire Language Scheme Certification, Talking Mats training Certification & Colourful Semantics. I love to make my sessions interesting and fun and personalised for all of my clients. I truly believe that everyone deserves to shine and be the best communicator they can be.
