24.01.2022 Congratulations to Nicole on providing the 1 millionth container to our Vinnies Penrith Return and Earn Site for October! This is a new monthly record for our Penrith site, making it the first time they've hit the magic million. Nicole works locally at Sacred Heart Primary School, who have been huge supporters of ours, making regular donations since we opened in 2018. Thank you to the students of Sacred Heart Primary for your wonderful efforts and donations.

23.01.2022 Congratulations to the students and staff at St John The Evangelist Primary School, Campbelltown, who collected and donated 3,235 drink containers to Vinnies this week. This sets a new record for the number of containers in a single collection from Vinnies school partners. Well done - top marks!

23.01.2022 A shout out to one of our Wagga customers, Robyn Crouch, who is using Return and Earn to make an impact as far away as Cambodia! Robyn’s 10c refunds have helped her purchase a tuk tuk for a rural village in Siem Reap. That’s a lot of impact by simply returning bottles, cans and cartons! 22.01.2022 St Brigid's Catholic Primary School, Gwynneville are saving the world one container at a time, recently diverting 8.6 cubic metres of waste from landfill and into our Vinnies Return and Earn depot at Unanderra! 21.01.2022 TEMPORARY CLOSURE - SOUTH NOWRA DEPOSIT CENTRE, Saturday 4 January Please note that, in response to the forecast catastrophic fire conditions and strong advice from authorities for both visitors and residents to leave the Shoalhaven area, our Nowra container deposit centre will be closed on Saturday 4 January. Our thoughts are with those in the Shoalhaven who have or may be impacted by the devastating fires.... 18.01.2022 Merry Christmas to the staff and patrons of St Marys Rugby League Club who had a visit from our Penrith container deposit centre team this month to thank them for their efforts. The club has donated more than 23,000 containers to date, ensuring that recyclable materials are diverted from landfill and helping to generate thousands of dollars in additional funding in support of local Vinnies services assisting those in need. This time of year sees an increase in the number of individuals and families reaching out to Vinnies for a hand up, and we're grateful to all of our container donor partners who are committed to supporting our good works - every 10 cents counts!

14.01.2022 Kudos to residents and businesses across the Riverina! Our Wagga deposit centre processed almost 230,000 containers last week, in just five days of operation! That's a great effort, and in the lead up to the festive season we're expecting even bigger volumes - diverting thousands of cubic metres of recyclable waste from landfill to responsible re-use. Our guys are all smiles, no matter how busy it gets - they know they're helping out with fast and convenient sorting, counting and on-the-spot 10c refunds, and that every bottle, can and carton they process is helping those less fortunate in local communities. What's not to smile about?!?

Refund counters and EFTPOS keypads are regularly disinfected We are practicing social-distancing and ask that you keep 1.5 metres from staff, volunteers and other customers where possible. The depot is well ventilated and spacious, allowing social distancing Vinnies workers have been asked to self-isolate from the depot if they are displaying any symptoms, hav...e returned from overseas or have increased risk of infection Tag and Drop service is available to customers who seek increased distance from our workers - just ask. 08.01.2022 A big thank you to Piper who has donated containers in support of Vinnies Bushfire Appeal. Piper, here with her father Mick, usually collects recyclable drink containers to earn 10 cents per container for herself from Vinnies Bulk Container Deposit Centre in Unanderra. This week Piper has donated her containers instead, making a personal contribution to support those affected by the devastating bushfires.

08.01.2022 Thank you to all of our Unanderra and Penrith bulk container deposit centre customers who add to their recycling efforts by collecting and dropping off their drink bottle lids. This week saw us deliver more than 20 bins filled with lids to Holden Rally Team - Lids4Kids, which will now be washed and colour sorted before being repurposed into a range of everyday items to support students of all ages. Want to help? While dozens of dedicated Lids4Kids volunteers busily wash and s...ort donated lids to support their effective reuse, by taking the time to give your lids a quick wash before dropping them off, you'll be making a big difference. To help avoid contamination with any unwashed lids, be sure to pop them into a reusable shopping bag before placing in the bin too. Stay posted for news on when our other depot sites will be added as collection points for this great initiative!

All eligible containers are now being accepted for a 10c refund, or you can opt to donate to Vinnies. Donating to Vinnies Return & Earn scheme directly supports the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the local community.
