22.01.2022 Dr Vincent Pan and his research team from National University Singapore have teamed up with A/Prof Benjamin Tan at Charles Darwin University, Prof Sally Chan at University of Newcastle and A/Prof Lorna Suen at Hong Kong Polytechnic University to conduct an online survey assessing the knowledge and risk perception levels of people towards the COVID-19 outbreak. Participation is open to people aged 21 years and above and is entirely voluntary. You are highly encouraged to complete all questions in the survey which will take 20-25 minutes. 18.01.2022 NCCTRC is collaborating with Charles Darwin University (CDU) to develop a suite of postgraduate health emergency courses. The first course offered is the Grad C...ert in Aeromedical Retrieval commencing in Semester 1 on March 1st 2021. NCCTRC is offering scholarships for two postgraduate Pacific health professionals involved in aeromedical retrieval work. If successfully completed, possible option of continuing through to Masters Aeromedical Retrieval. The course is completely online from your home country while continuing to work. Application criteria include English language competency and for those interested in applying, CDU includes Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga and PNG on the extended list for English speaking countries requiring only written confirmation that the medium language of instruction for undergraduate degree was English. Speakers: Dr Ravi Mahajani, a reconstructive plastic surgeon will be discussing ‘The challenges of plastic and reconstructive wound care in remote Australia'. Olufemi Oshin, a vascular surgeon from Perth who has recently pioneered a telehealth multidisciplinary foot clinic in West Australia will be discussing ‘Virtual healthcare and the lessons from COVID’. Pam Morey, a nurse practitioner will be looking at ‘The health practitioner’s role in wound referral when to escalate’. This event will feature a live Q and A session for each of the presenters, but please note only those in Darwin will be able to have a live Q &A with Dr Ravi Mahajani.
