13.01.2022 Council is considering options for rebuilding Child Care facilities in Dee Why. The Education Department will reclaim premises adjoining Arthur Reserve early in 2022. Options include building on the Arthur Reserve. This will seriously disadvantage youth members of our scout group since children from all sections - joeys, cubs & scouts - use the open space for games and other activities. The Dee Why scout hall was built in 1953 and has been extended and improved in 2 stages; ...the latest being in early 2000s. Cromer Dee Why Scout Group has expended condiderable funds in building and maintaining the hall which, besides scouting, also hosts the Karuna Playgroup. Please help up to retain the use of the Arthur Reserve by registering your objections with Council in accordance with the notice. Alternative sites for new Child Care premises include the Cromer and Narraweena Community Centres and adjoining reserves.
