21.01.2022 When schools in Perth and Peel return on Monday 8 February, all secondary students (including 11-year-olds) and school staff will be required to wear a mask. Ma...sks are not required for primary school students or schools in the South West. Here are some tips for talking to kids about why wearing a mask is important: http://spr.ly/6182H5E0q If you have trouble accessing a mask, contact your school. #edunews See more

16.01.2022 As you may be aware Cecil Andrews College has spent many years improving student access to technology at the College and this has required significant investmen...t in both desktop and laptop computers. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus we have the unprecedented situation of having to deliver our teaching and learning program almost exclusively online. The challenge for all of us is how do we use our limited resources to make sure our students are able to access this program. We have devised a two pronged approach: 1. We will make available our existing laptop computers to students that need them for use at home. a. This will be done as quickly as we can but we have to set up each computer to work independently away from the College network so we will require some patience from you. b. We have a limited supply of these laptops ready now. c. Priority will be given to our senior school students beginning with year 12. d. Other years as more laptops become available. e. To access the online learning program students will need access to the internet at home. f. For those who don’t have internet we have secured some donated SIM cards with data that will be available to those students who require it. g. Simply place the SIM card into a mobile phone and link the laptop. h. We recognize that some students will need both a laptop and a SIM card while others may need one or the other. We are in the process of surveying our students and their families to create a list of what students need so you may be contacted in the coming days and weeks. If you have not updated your contact details with the College, please do so as soon as you can so we can include you in this survey. 2. The second prong of our approach is to provide a learning hub at the college that some students will be able to attend in person from the beginning of term 2 to access their online learning program with support from staff. This hub will comply with all restrictions and precautions in place to deal with COVID-19. This is a rapidly changing setting we find ourselves in but ultimately our students and their families are our main concern and we are working hard to find the best way of serving our community both now and into the future. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact the College. See more
