25.01.2022 Enjoying a tipple in the tub! Double bubbles. Sampling a tasty Tasmanian sparkling rose from Mussleroe Bay Wines.
21.01.2022 Getting our design nerd on. Two of these incredible mid-century flexible arm wall light sconces will be installed in the cottage kitchen. They're sourced from France, but restored to international standards by a company in Amsterdam called 360volt. They're enamel, cast iron and possibly brass. You can't replicate this kind of character and patina.... There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen
18.01.2022 We’re jammin’ In an antique French jam pan to be precise. Handmade out of copper to distribute heat quickly and evenly, these old pans turn fruit into deeply delicious preserves.... Lovingly made by my mum from plump, foraged blackberries, a little pot of homemade joy is yours to keep when you stay.
18.01.2022 Meander Forest Reserve is just 15 minutes down the road, and is your gateway to Tasmania's World Heritage Wilderness. Explore Tassie's great day walks, like Meander Falls and Split Rock Falls. These walks are exquisite and take you through lush, ancient rainforests and sub-alpine flora. Come back after bathing in some of the most beautiful forests on earth and sink into a cedar hot tub as you watch the sun set behind the mountain.... Bliss.
13.01.2022 Let me introduce you to old Mother Cummings, she sits proudly at the edge of kooparoona niara/the Great Western Tiers and watches over the cottage and the valleys. This area is known as the *mountains of our spirits* to the traditional, original and continuing owners of this land, the Pallitore people. ... Kooparoona Niara Tours offer fantastic cultural day tours, contact Greg to learn more about this beautiful country and its people from a contemporary Tasmanian Aboriginal perspective. Or we can arrange this for you when you stay. He runs delicious local foodie tours too!

11.01.2022 Our beautiful, moody oil painting Meander Snow has arrived from Fiona Verdouw: https://www.instagram.com/fionaverdouw_art This was based on the the verandah view of Mother Cummings mountain in a snowstorm last winter. Who wants generic prints when you can curate your space with commissioned artwork *and* support local artists? ... Renovations are almost complete. Then we get to move on to exciting stuff like styling and photo shoots. We're ramping up to launch in late November! We’ll be offering some great competitions to celebrate, so watch this space.
10.01.2022 Ah, warm breezes and the delicious days of summer. Perfect weather for long, languid grazing lunches in the dappled shade. Visit us and try some of the best produce in the world.... Tasmania is a foodie’s paradise. Natasha Mulhall Photography
09.01.2022 Morning mist rising behind the blackwood tree.
08.01.2022 Work continues behind the scenes. We’re thrilled with our new fire pit, which is both beautiful and practical with a full grill, ember screen and lid. 1.2 metres of cast iron goodness, baby. Looking forward to getting into some delicious campfire recipes from Sarah Glover. We’ll have a bit of a camp kitchen set up so you can enjoy cooking in the wild. ... Don't worry, if that's not your thing there's still the full chef's kitchen inside.
08.01.2022 A beautiful note left by recent newlyweds. Let us know if you're planning a birthday, honeymoon or special occasion. We want your experience to be the best it can possibly be.

06.01.2022 Like shingles and shakes, post and rail fencing is a traditional craft in decline. We were lucky to have Jamie and Andrew from Sticks & Stones help preserve our post and rail fences. These blokes have been "recording, preserving and practicing hedgelaying and dry stone walling in northern Tasmania" for a decade.
05.01.2022 It’s been a fun day working out deck lighting with CTM Electrical Meander Valley Tasmania, talking styling with Design Frank and finalising the details of our signage with Esk Ridge. We have stellar Tassie businesses partnering with us for the photo shoot too. I think I’m ready for the hot tub though. Time to soak up that view. ... Happy Friday!
05.01.2022 The first daffodil.
05.01.2022 Sunday arvos are for relaxing in the hot tub. Golden.
03.01.2022 The clematis is blooming on the verandah. The cottage is fringed with inquisitive green tendrils and dusky pink petals. Beaut spot to recline on the antique cane day bed with a cocktail and watch the mist kiss the mountains. Time to unwind. It's Friday!
03.01.2022 How Wild Things Are, the new Tassie-based cookbook from chef Analiese Gregory has arrived. We’ve added it our guest library. It's chock full of antipodean recipes and ocean/paddock/bush-to-plate deliciousness. ... There's plenty of gastronomic inspiration for next time you stay and catch a fresh trout at nearby Huntsman Lake. Chill out and cook on the open fire under the stars, bush style.
