19.01.2022 Thylacoleo, an Australian marsupial predator that lived about 50,000 years ago. It's closest living relative today is the wombat. Thylacoleo weighed up to 100 kg and pound for pound had the strongest bite of any mammal.

In the past 7 years, he has helped us to educated thousands on school children and people about how important wombats are and the challenges they are facing in the wild. He has also put on about 25kg since these pics were taken. See more

17.01.2022 A friendly reminder from the ABC to keep an eye out for wildlife on Tasmanian roads! Lis Brown spotted this cute duo while driving through Wynyard, in the stat...e's north-west, recently. "I saw the baby stop, and then mum stopped and came back ... they seemed to have a chat. The bub then followed mum till they were safely off the road." What a sweet moment! : Lis Brown

05.01.2022 This very "wisdomess" wombat was seen waiting wisely to cross the road at Cradle mountain. Always adhere to the speed limit and watch the sides of the road for ...wildlife. By doing so, you give yourself and wildlife, time to avoid disastrously deadly collisions. If you know of areas of wandering wombats, like Cradle mountain, it is prudent to travel 10km below the speed limit, even during the day. This precaution allows these marvellous marsupials the time to manoeuvre out of your way when munching on roadside grass. #wonderingwombats #wombats #Cradlemountain #slowforwildlife #tassiewildlife #tassiewombat #marsupials #manuevers #vombatusursinus #wisdom #wombatcrossing #savethetassiewombat #wombatrescue #sombatrescuetasmania #wildlifeconservation #marsupialmonday
03.01.2022 Our veterinarians and nurses will be on site 24/7 over the long weekend. Please ensure you call ahead before beginning your journey to us on 1300 838 669. Given... the weather forecast, we expect that it will be busy. A reminder that as we are an emergency centre, we work using a triage system and this means critically ill patients will be seen first. This may mean that stable or 'green' patients will wait longer - but please remember our staff are working hard to get to you and your pet as quickly as possible. Thanks for your understanding. 02.01.2022 please remember wildlife in this heat ! wombats don’t do well in heat and suffer heat stress ! .All wildlife need water ! and shade ! please leave fresh water out under a tree thank you ..
01.01.2022 I’m seeing a lot of people with injured wildlife asking who to ring !if the animal is injured it needs to go to the closest vet less stress on the animal and it can be checked over by a vet and xrayed and given pain meds, stress and pain on any wildlife can kill them ..
