25.01.2022 As cafes can only operate in a takeaway capacity following the new government directives Cedar Galleries will not be operating our cafe until further notice. For the safety of our regulars we will also cease Friday art and craft immediately. Cedar Galleries is not closed. This is a little earlier for the cafe and art studios than the temporary hiatus we had already announced. We still intend to reopen when things settle down. We do have other bookings at this time for small private events and we will discuss those with the individuals concerned.

19.01.2022 The café and galleries are open to the public again on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9am to 3pm. Be tempted by our home baked goodies. Enjoy the larger café seating spaces, thanks to Shell SmartyGrants and their #Backtobusiness grants. Come and meet the alpacas and enjoy the relaxed vibe. Fridays are a great day to unleash your creativity and learn sculpting, mosaic and fibre crafts. Contact us for more information.

11.01.2022 Calling all gardeners! Help! We’re up to our eyeballs in alpaca poo! We’re selling loads of 15 bags for $50 delivered. A bag weights around 12kg and gardeners LOVE it. Alpaca poo is high in potassium and nitrogen but lower in odour than most manures. No need to compost it first as it doesn't burn plants. On existing gardens we add it like a thick mulch and then you can put your normal mulch over it if you wish and let the rain water it in. Or if you're establishing new gardens then dig it through the soil. Our vegies go crazy on it. Pop some in a watering can and it makes a great liquid fertiliser too. Price Includes delivery to Gladstone and surrounding suburbs like Tannum, Boyne and Calliope. PM to make arrangements.

The space will be decorated with Christmas trees, tables and chairs with covers. There will be a Bluetooth speaker for your use. We will provide drinking water and disposable cups. We are a BYO drinks venue but no drinking from glass please, for safety. Please drink from cans or disposable cups. You are welcome to bring platters and nibbles. You cannot heat or cook food on our premises or have a BBQ. You can arrange a mobile caterer or food delivery but you must discuss that with us so we can ensure they have the appropriate food licensing. This is for a minimum of 10 people playing laser tag and a maximum of 50 people overall. All attendees are to be from the Gladstone region and have not travelled to a COVID hotspot or had flu-like symptoms in the prior 14 days. To check availability email [email protected]

06.01.2022 Thanks again to those who participated in the crafting bee for wildlife. If there is interest we’ll host another in February.

06.01.2022 Our 9 year anniversary of ownership today. Thanks to all of our artists and customers for your support. Thanks to our major shareholder, the Commonwealth Bank (although for the share of this place you guys own it wouldn’t kill you to drop by and run the mower around every now and then).

02.01.2022 Our injured wildlife crafting bee is amazing! I’m so proud to be part of this Gladstone community. Our spaces are just buzzing with activity and hope. Thank you to everyone who donated fabrics to make this possible. And thanks to the Tannum Bakehouse for the yummy morning tea to keep us all fueled up.

02.01.2022 Cedar Galleries is taking a break from Sunday 5th April. While the weather is so unpredictable and the roads works are such a mess we’ve decided to take the opportunity to focus on our health and well-being. For the time being the last art day will be Friday 3rd April. We will run the laser tag games already booked but we’re not taking any new bookings. We won’t be open to the public after Saturday 4th April. Artists with pieces in the gallery are welcome to leave them here until we reopen or to collect them. We’ll monitor how everything is going and decide in the future when to reopen. We look forward to seeing everyone when we’re refreshed. Thanks for understanding!
