25.01.2022 As incredible as these horses are.....thank goodness for the ramp!!!

25.01.2022 A couple of handy hints and tips for float users 1 leave the jockey wheel at right angles so the float can be moved sideways onto the tow hitch. Much easier to move it sideways than to move forwards or backwards. 2 If the lights dont work, use a Stanley knife or similar to prise the contacts of the male connectors apart slightly to effect a better connection. 3 Change the wheel on the front axle quickly by raising it up using the jockey wheel. 4 more to come!!

24.01.2022 Our straight load has just had come back from its 6 monthly service having been minutely inspected and passed by PBL. The well-being of all the animals that travel in our floats are a priority of ours so float safety is something we do not compromise on. Gorgeous Albert looking forward to his day out with the Dayboro Trail Riders.

24.01.2022 It’s amazing where our floats get too.....Stradbroke here we come

24.01.2022 A great series for any horse enthusiast

24.01.2022 Well we have finally taken the plunge and replaced all of our floats’ brakes with Elecbrake units. This will mean a much smoother and safer ride for your horse as the brakes can be precisely calibrated from inside your car. No more stopping and guessing how much to increase or decrease the braking power and no built in cab controller is required. The Elecbrakes work via a remote connecting through Bluetooth or from an app on your phone. They are super easy to use and the feedback so far has been excellent #elecbrakes

23.01.2022 Looking to explore new places and trails with your horse but dont have a float to get you there? Why not take advantage of Cedarspells school holiday special? Hire either one of our floats Mon Thurs for $50 for up to 8 hours.

18.01.2022 Beautiful Cedar Creek this afternoon, on the bank you will find Cedarspell.

17.01.2022 Cedarspell helped @equine_action_qld move Cadey this morning to her new foster home at Laceys Creek.

17.01.2022 Does your horse scramble in a float? If the answer to this question is yes then your horses natural asymmetry may be to blame. Horses, just like us, tend to be one sided; they will naturally bend through their body more to one side than the other. This bend from the neck through to the tail is a result of the natural movement of its spine, muscles and how and where the horse carries its own body weight. Interestingly, studies have shown that 70% of horses have a bend to the ...left and only 30% to the right. So why is this relevant to floating your horse? Traditionally in a straight load float we travel with our horse in the bay on the drivers side. For a left bent horse this is the ideal position but if your horse happens to be one of the 30% that is bent to the right, its rump is going to be extremely close to the wall of the float. This means there is very little room for it to spread its legs for balance and hence its tendency to scramble up the float wall in an attempt to stay upright. To help you identify if your horse is left or right bent, below are some of the more common clues to identify horses that are naturally bent to the right. The opposite will be true for horses that bend naturally to the left. 1) A right bent horse will easily bend to right and not so easily bend or turn to the left. 2) On a circle to the right, the right bent horse will tend to fall out over its left shoulder making the circle bigger. On a circle to the left it will prefer to fall in on its left shoulder making the circle smaller. 3) Whilst riding, the right bent horse may feel as though it holds the bit more on its left side and is less inclined to accept the bit on the right. 4) You may also notice that the saddle, and therefore the rider, has a tendency to slip towards the left hand side of the horses body. Check the positioning of the sweat marks on your saddle cloth and see if there is more on the left side than the right. So if your horse does have a tendency to scramble it maybe because of its natural bend to the right. A possible solution would be to try using the passenger (left) side bay. This will give your horse the room it needs away from the wall to allow it to stand with its legs wider apart. Wider legs mean a greater base of support and adequate stability for good balance. If you would like to find out more about natural asymmetry and how it can effect your horse as well as how you can help your horse to overcome the problems of its asymmetry then www.straightnesstraining.com is a great place to start.

08.01.2022 After a great few years at Cedarspell we have decided that we cant continue to service our clients as well as we would like to due to family commitments. Due to this we have made the very hard decision to sell the business, alternatively we will just sell the floats off individually. If you have any interest in either please let us know. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful clients & wish everyone a Merry Christmas & a Great 2018. Rachel & Steve

07.01.2022 It was time for the floats quarterly service today. Kelvin spent 10 years building PBL floats so who better to service them? He went over each of them with a fine tooth comb ensuring total peace of mind, that they are as safe and mechanically sound as they can possibly be.

07.01.2022 Does your horse float with confidence or is it a battle to get it on and stay on? Maybe you feel a little nervous towing a horse float especially if there is tight maneuvering or reversing involved? If either of the above describes you or your horse, then Malveen is available to give you a helping hand. With her calm and gentle approach she will work with you and your horse to develop a repeatable process that you can take forward to load your horse onto a float safely and... efficiently every time. She can also pass on her driving knowledge and experience so you can become more confident towing and most importantly reversing. You and your horse can then both start enjoying lots of fun adventures away from home. As with most things related to horses, little and often is key so we are offering a special float training hire package which includes float hire for 5 week days (subject to availability) and a visit from Malveen. For more information please get in touch or click on the link at http://cedarspell.com.au/floating-confidence-for-people-an/
