24.01.2022 Paulas first Relay was in 2013 at Bordertown Relay For Life. However it wasnt until 2017 Paula formed her team CURE (courage, understanding, resilience and en...couragement). Paula got involved in Relay For Life as she had seen many family and friends affected by cancer. But it wasnt until 2007 when her mum was diagnosed with cancer, that it really hit home. Weve seen firsthand the amazing work that Cancer Council SA does to help not only patients but their whole family during the process of diagnosis, treatment & recovery. After being on the receiving end of this vital assistance, I feel we have no choice but to give back to help others for such a worthy cause. Raising funds, particularly for Cancer Council SA's accommodation means so much to Paula and her family. As we live a three hour drive from Adelaide, we dont have immediate access to vital treatment for cancer patients. Cancer Council SA provides vital accommodation support for such families to assist them during such a traumatic time. Not only are Paula and her team, CURE, back for another Relay, but she is now on the organising committee. 18.01.2022 Happy International Volunteer Day to all our incredible volunteers! Relay For Life is empowering event, but it simply would not happen without the amazing people who donate their time and effort to organise and assist with such a huge event. Cancer Council SA has over 1,200 volunteers who make what we do possible, from driving Lodge guests to treatment, restocking hospital brochures, working in retail and making thank you calls to donors, through to running Relay For Life eve...nts, manning Daffodil Day sites in all types of weather and handing out sunscreen to the community. Volunteers and Committee members are the backbone of Relay For Life and from everyone here at Cancer Council SA we thank you so much!

17.01.2022 The Ceduna Relay For Life committee wish to advise of the deferment of this years planned event. The Ceduna community, South Australia and Australia as a whole, has been impacted by the recent bushfires and drought. This has impacted on the time, money and resources that people are able to give. We appreciate that Relay For Life is important to the Ceduna community and many residents, and wish to assure all that it will go ahead in 2021. A date will be communicated soon. We will be looking for more teams and supporters so that we are able to hold a successful, fun and engaging community event. I can't wait to see this amazing community come together for Relay which will be held over the weekend of 28 & 29 March 2020.
