This year, Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health partnered with Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria and inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence to promote respect and call out assumptions about violence against migrant and refugee women. 13.01.2022 Thank you to those who joined us for the Multicultural Drug and Alcohol Partnership (MDAP) online community forum on December 10. Members of the South Sudanese community, other African diaspora communities, and workers from community organisations joined our MDAP team for a discussion about how the program works and how it can help support communities. Participants from our African Australian communities also shared their thoughts about the barriers faced when seeking infor...mation about alcohol and other drugs, and accessing treatment. The MDAP team will be incorporating these valuable insights into our plans and practice as we move into 2021. We continue to serve the community by: Taking referrals to support young South Sudanese Australians achieve their goals and reduce AoD use. Offering education sessions about AoD to community groups. Working with the AoD workforce to deliver culturally appropriate services.
