25.01.2022 Wish me luck . . . !

24.01.2022 A beautiful tribute from a disgusting act.

24.01.2022 Craft matters, too, because it is the art world’s best path to diversity. There is a reason that Linda Nochlin never wrote an article called Why Have There Been No Great Women Weavers? There have been plenty. And potters. And jewelers. And metalsmiths. Craft is also a rich tapestry of ethnic diversity, having been practiced expertly by people of all nations and regions for millennia. You can make a strong case that the long-standing marginalization of the craftsand the self-evidently crazy idea that painting isn’t onewas just the art world’s way of practicing sexism and racism, barely disguised as a policing of disciplines rather than people. https://www.artsy.net/a/artsy-editorial-art-embracing-craft

19.01.2022 It's nice to know my art is appreciated....

18.01.2022 I love old typewriters anyway but this is next level rapture.

16.01.2022 Coming to the local gallery; what an inspiring exhibition!

15.01.2022 Yes! Colour is amazing and I love to play too.

13.01.2022 If the shoe fits, buy it in every colour!

12.01.2022 Slow and steady, step by step, crafting myself by hand.

11.01.2022 Studio additions: a new (to me) 4-shaft loom and a picture rail to hang some of my artworks. Happy all-denominational season of festivus celebrations to everyone!

10.01.2022 New year, new art. Bushfire therapy "Slow Burn", 100% Australian wool, WIP.

08.01.2022 Hey there! Thought I'd share a random creative post as it's been a while... I've taken to writing letters and avoiding the shops as much as possible during Victoria's lockdown and ran down to my last envelope. But because I still had a box of WGAC loo paper from pre-pandemic days, I made some new envelopes from recycled wrapping paper and I think they'll brighten someone's mailbox really soon!

05.01.2022 I've been delving into 4-shaft weaving recently and this is today's effort.

04.01.2022 I have a plan for a similar piece but I don't think I have 25yrs worth of patience to work it...

03.01.2022 Are you more interested in broomstick needles or surgical wire needles? I like them chunky because it gives me more scope to blend different colours of yarn but this work is awesome too! https://indianapublicmedia.org/arts/tiny-knits.php

03.01.2022 TFW you were admiring your art on the dining room table and forgot to put it back in your bag to return it to the studio. Le sigh.TFW you were admiring your art on the dining room table and forgot to put it back in your bag to return it to the studio. Le sigh.

02.01.2022 There's a Circus keeping evacuation centres running with their own generators, a comedian has so far raised $32 MILLION on a fundraiser, authors are running an ...auction on Twitter, musicians are holding fundraising gigs across the country, local and international actors are donating their own money. Jewellery makers, designers, screenprinters, ceramic artists, photographers are holding charity auctions on instagram. Knitters and crafters and sewers are making cooling bands for firefighters and rescue pouches for animals. Tell me again that the Arts have no value? See more
