23.01.2022 2019 marks my 20th anniversary of being a NSW Justice of the Peace. In that time, I have certified 10’s of 1000’s of photocopied marriage certificates, passports, drivers licences and uni results to mention just a few. I have witnessed signatures on statutory declarations, traffic fines, affidavits with annexures, notices of intention to marry, visa applications for sponsors and even a few thumbprints for proof of life documents for overseas! I’ve also been abused and threa...tened several times for declining to sign, but thankfully most people I help are just so grateful. I wish I had a dollar for every time I have signed my name, but it’s a free and mostly thankless service. You’re welcome.
