19.01.2022 It been 2 years now since I started helping families at that difficult time when a loved one passes and I assist them to create a ceremony as a tribute to that life. It makes it so worthwhile and rewarding when I receive emails like the following:- "On behalf of the family I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the kind and professional manner with which you managed and delivered the service for our brother Geoff. Planning a funeral for a loved one is an emotion...ally exhausting experience and we were comforted by your ability to not only talk us through the necessities but to really listen to our stories. Your friendly approach allowed us to open up and share precious memories. You wove all of this together within the fabric of the era and touched base with us to make sure it was what we wanted. Friends and family have commented that the service was professional, personal and dignified. We will indeed recommend you to our friends." - Janice See more

18.01.2022 In early April I had the privilege of conducting the marriage ceremony for Michael and Tara out at Roma. Yesterday I received the following email from them along with some photos. It is so rewarding to know that I have been able to perform a service for them which is acknowledged and is appreciated. I do wish them a long, happy, healthy and successful marriage. "Dear Terry, To sit and write a letter of thanks seems so inadequate. Your professionalism, yet personalism has mad...e you a cherished part of our wedding memories. From our first encounter, you made the official paperwork so easy and transparent to understand and fill out. We appreciate that you took the time to sit with us and get to know us as a couple in the months before the wedding. With your help we were able to shape our ceremony in a way that reflected our relationship. Our guests later asked us how many years we had known you for, as you were able to represent our relationship so beautifully. Your calming nature was warmly welcomed on the day as our nerves started to surface, and in the moments before the ceremony you helped us both focus. We feel we have gained a friend, and were so lucky to have found such a wonderful celebrant in you. Kindest regards, Tara and Michael" See more

18.01.2022 Yesterday I had the privilege to conduct a Renewal of Vows ceremony for Victor and Ruby as they celebrated their 70th (yes 70th!) Wedding Anniversary with their friends and their Aveo family at the Aveo Freedom Aged Care at Tanah Merah. The devotion and love they have for each other is obvious to all that know them. Thank you to Jo at Freedom and Raelene from White Lady Funerals, Tanah Merah for all their work and participation in seeing this lovely couple celebrate such a milestone.

15.01.2022 Yay! Marriage Equality has arrived - looking forward to my first ceremony under the imminent new legislation

12.01.2022 Cute Idea for all those wanting a different way to recall those magic moments and places.

10.01.2022 It was with pride that I had nearly 20 years service with the QPS and sadness again this week with the passing, in the line of duty, of Senior Constable Brett Forte. Whilst not knowing Brett personally I did work with his father, Stuart, some 35 years ago at the Brisbane Traffic Branch. My thoughts go to the entire family.

10.01.2022 Helped Queensland Police Legacy Scheme celebrate Christmas today !

07.01.2022 Today had the pleasure of speaking at the Rotary Club of Sunnybank Hills after an invitation from PDG Anne Brand. Was able to enlighten them in regards to the role of Civil Celebrants (and enjoyed a great breakfast). Thanks President Pam and members..

06.01.2022 A good quote can help us feel a sense of commonality; when we find our feelings & experiences match others. These, from Her Majesty, on the day she lost her best friend

02.01.2022 What a great day at the Queensland Police Legacy Race Day at the Gold Coast. James from Beautiful Gems & Jewellery and I donated a wedding/jewellery package which saw several hundred dollars raised for the Legacy scheme.

02.01.2022 And I expected to be buried back near the Classifieds!

01.01.2022 During the week I conducted a service for a family and the following poem was read by one of the speakers. Now whilst it had been probably read at many many services over the years it was the first time I have heard it. I thought I would share it with you all. Life is like a journey on a train with its stations with changes of routes and with accidents! At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side. However, at some ...station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don’t realize that they vacated their seats! This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all the passengersrequiring that we give the best of ourselves. The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life. I wish you a joyful journey for the coming year on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. More importantly, thank God for the journey! Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train! See more

01.01.2022 Great day today at Redland Bay Golf Club for the annual Crimestoppers fundraising event. Glad to be helping this worthwhile organisation with its tremendous work in the community #crimestoppers

01.01.2022 Last Saturday I had the pleasure of performing the marriage ceremony for Geoff and Eve as they start their married life together. It was held at Crowne Plaza, Surfers Paradise and what a delight to find that they have a small chapel in a very quiet spot within the hotel grounds. This chapel holds about 60 guests and there is an adjacent lawn area for those who wish to have an outdoor ceremony, and, the reception area was only a short walk inside the hotel. The hotels Event Co...ordinator, Justine Clarke, was a pleasure to work with and all the details were looked after well. I am not sure of the costs but the service was 5 #crowneplazagoldcoast #celebrationsoflifeqld #spingweddings
