25.01.2022 Before the start of the 16 Perth Cherry Auction yesterday (9 December) Who would have thought I could have worked the crowd to part with over $100,000!!

25.01.2022 A memorabilia supplier to live & silent auctions rang today - on another matter. I advised him on that before he moved conversation to his core business. He not...iced a downturn in success rate for his items in both formats & ask for ideas. I was happy to suggest he finishes the silent bidding - & advises successful people - before the live auction starts. He will do that at future events. $$$$$ Contact me to find out why & how.

24.01.2022 Last nights Fundraising auction at PCEC for the French Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was quite enjoyable and went pretty well. Great to catch up with corporate friends Bryan, John W, Mark J, Peter W, Phil , Michael some of which also bid on the experiences available.

23.01.2022 After the corporate lunch - home for a change into dinner suit for a black tie ball. Probably 300 people there and just 9 lots. Again all donated and I also believe that the event organiser did what I consider a very useful thing and circulated the list of lots by email i the days before the ball to the attendees. ( So many of them dont do this essential part of promotion for the auction). Heaps of FUN had by most, if not all attendees.

22.01.2022 Have just finished the auction at Govt House for The Blue Light Appeal Dinner. Lots of FUN had by all and some good money raised in the auctions.

20.01.2022 Gearing up to do the 2016 Cherry auction at Perths Market City. tomorrow morning at 0645 hrs. In addition to boxes of cherries I shall also auction a framed (2016?) West Coast Eagles geurnsey. (Any one looking for one?) The event is the 24th annual auction and benefits Perth Childrens Hospital Foundation and this year we are going to have a crack at topping the $1M aggregate mark.... Who will be the Cherry King or Queen for 2016?

19.01.2022 Getting ready for Sundays long table "last supper" lunch auction at the old Vastesse Bakery site in North Perth. Should be lots of good items to be auctioned and some tremendous Italian foods as organised by Mondo Community Warriors.

17.01.2022 Last nights Red Frogs Australia corporate dinner & auction was pretty good overall, with the generous organisers (@HaydenGlass & team) providing meals for the auction team. A sentimental highlight of the evening was the $1,000 price paid for a 1.3kg bag of "Allens" Red Frogs lollies - signed by the founder of the Red Frogs charity - @AndyGourley MC and guest speaker were @Gemma Tognini & @Basil Zempilas both were professional and entertaining

15.01.2022 Its amazing who you meet in car parks when your car has been blocked in! After a meeting at a connections business I almost got angry with a 4WD driver parked... across my properly parked vehicles bows. Instead, I approached them in a friendly manner & a past relationship was quickly recognised. Not by me, but them! During the chat & exchange of business cards, they saw my FUNdraising activity & told me of previous auctioneers that bored the crowd at a high profile dinner. 13.01.2022 Reading through at the moment the auction list for this Saturday nights Blue Light Appeal Gala dinner to raise FUNds for emergency service workers suffering fr...om PTSD. At Government House Perth - Lot 1 is a double trip (incl flights and accom) to the Brownlow dinner. Heres your chance to mingle with favourite AFL stars. Lot 2 is is 5 nights for 6 friends to Karma Jimbaran. Sounds like a great experience! If youre going to be there lets have a chat. (Some have been sol...d at a gallery sale recently, but theres likely to be great selection available and probably at least 1 or 2 that "tickles your fancy". 07.01.2022 In the better FUNdraising auctioneers pre event routine should be a "1 on 1" meeting with the ACTUAL event organiser to establish a strategy to fit the clients needs & to also give an overview to the auctioneer how the organiser will handle the operational aspects of the auction (may suggest modifications). This helps the auction component get the best result on the day. Today, had a meeting for a ball this w/end & learned a lot about the background of the 6 lots involved & suggested where to include 2 high value late additions so that on table lists are OK.

06.01.2022 Yesterdays FUNdraising auction "Decorating Ducks for Depression: achieved the appropriate results (AFAIK) a good sized crowd at #Houghtons Winery in the Swan Valley (many returning from last year) and they wanted to bid and support #Meeting_For_Minds (M4M). The crowd joined in the FUN and I enjoyed the chance to have lunch at the winery with my wife! Almost all of the 80 lots sold! STOP PRESS Apparently another "ducks" auction likely in about 4 to 8 weeks.

04.01.2022 Attended a Perth business annual charity lunch on Friday where key clients are invited. I conducted a 17 lot auction and a great outcome resulted. 17 lots is often too many to have at this type of event but I believe this time it worked because of 2 key factors: * the attendees knew that there was to be an auction (& that theres no such thing as a free lunch!) * All 17 lots were reserve free, so everything was going to be sold and therefore, all money raised gets passed on to the beneficiary, which in this case was Leukaemia Foundation WA

01.01.2022 Repeat business is great and last night I got confirmation for the opportunity to again call the FUNdraising auction at a businesss 2016 annual "Christmas" corporate lunch on Friday. It will be a busy day as, after wearing the business suit, I transfer into the dinner suit & black tie for the auction at the Perth gala organised by a national charity. This appointment is also a 2nd appearance! Will be all in a days work!
