23.01.2022 A lovely lady in my network sent me this social story about coronavirus which she and a friend created on the weekend. Safe to say my weekend consisted of nothing quite so productive! Thanks for sharing Kate x

21.01.2022 Clients commonly tell me they delayed getting therapy because they worried they wouldnt know what to say which would be anxiety provoking ...so a reminder, 1. The therapy space is to bring whatever you want...It's your space BUT 2. You don't have to know what you want to bring...the clinican can collaborate with you to work that out... If you have wanted professional support, but have put it off because of worries what a normal thing to feel! Remember you're not alone...let myself or your clinican know your worried, ask questions prior to the session if you have any. Its highly likely by the second session the anxiety levels will be significantly lower!

20.01.2022 Walking into a new consulting room can feel hard...so I thought I'd share my virtual consultation space. This is part of what you'll see during a telehealth session. Most importantly it's a 100 percent confidential and private space. Anyone whose worked with me before will also appreciate how clear my desk is in this picture! (...the organized chaos is on my 'paperwork desk')

20.01.2022 Those of you who know my dogs know they prefer walks with lots of company & laughs. For now we enjoyed some fresh air and sunshine...and who knows, maybe we can get a virtual walking group happening to keep these 2 busy!

18.01.2022 Recommencing 21st July I will be returning to offering in person appointments on Tuesdays based out of Kyabram. Shepparton to follow soon after and Telehealth options will still be avaliable. Looking forward to seeing people!

13.01.2022 There's lots of ways to ask it and I am fortunate to be able to ask people R U OK every day as part of my job. Its important to ask the question. But if you're not doing ok, or you're not sure whether you're doing ok, you don't have to wait for someone to ask - there's people waiting to listen - family, friends or professionals - RUOK DAY is a great day to ask the question, it's also a great day to reach out to someone if you need support yourself. Thank you to all the wonderful people in my life who ask me every day and in lots of different ways R U OK?

13.01.2022 Very much looking forward to moving back to offering in persons appointments next week!

12.01.2022 This is Ghost. He is excellent at hugs and would like to be a legit therapy dog one day. For now he's happy smelling the flowers and chillin in the sunshine. Happy weekend!

12.01.2022 Self soothing using your senses can be used to care and nurture yourself through tough times, and the sight and smell of flowers might be part of an individual sensory care plan. My virtual consulting room has had some extra blooms gifted to it this week

09.01.2022 Great news that provision for an extra 10 sessions subsidised through Medicare will be made available to those in areas impacted by this new round of COVID related restrictions

09.01.2022 This boy & I enjoyed a walking appointment today in the sunshine. While the privacy of a consulting room is often important, there's a few reasons walking appointments can be great from time to time (particularly at this weird time when face to face contact is limited) : 1. Ticking some mental health first aid goals with exercise, fresh air and sunshine 2. Opportunities for informal mindfulness exercises 3. Great for exposure therapy tasks 4. Time spent in the community, not ...just as client and therapist, but as humans who are all connected by the systems around us 5. Dogs are welcome! See more

07.01.2022 Yesterday started with excitement about pushing the "professional" dress code to new levels. By 5pm the fun of an all day pyjama sesh had worn off and the "work at home blues" had kicked in. Today ima tackle the day differently.

07.01.2022 A snippet of my collection of YA books cause it's hands down the best genre! Iso is the best time to read a book. Even if its not normally your thing. Inbox me if you need something to read and i'll send one your way.

04.01.2022 Wearing a mask for a full day of therapy was a new challenge today. But the kindness of a lovely friend who made and delivered these to me made today a little bit special too. Until restrictions are eased, today will be my last day of in person appointments, but I look forward to continuing to see everyone over Telehealth! If you don't feel Telehealth is suitable for your needs please let me know and we can discuss options.
