25.01.2022 Who has clear skies and planning getting up in the morning ?

25.01.2022 Great light show is coming up this weekend, over 100 meteors per hour could light up our skies! Best time will be just before dawn on Monday the 14th. Position yourself north and away from light pollution as much as possible. The meteors will be coming from the northern constellation Gemini. Grab a chair, get comfortable and hope for clear skies!

24.01.2022 Congrats to SpaceX, who got up this morning and watched the launch ? https://www.abc.net.au//space-x-launches-astronau/12304294

22.01.2022 Celestron has reinvented the manual telescope with StarSense Explorer. The first telescope that uses your smartphone to analyse the night sky and calculate its position in real time. 21.01.2022 Once in a lifetime opportunity! You don’t want to miss this one, you won’t get another chance till 2080! Look west just after the sunset and the brightest star will be Jupiter and Saturn. You will be able to see them really close together with your Celestron telescope. Good luck and clear skies! Don’t forget to tag #celestronaustralia in your post.

13.01.2022 Ever wonder what a celestial object looks like through different eyepieces? Here, Istajarul Alim (@istajarul) uses 3 different eyepieces (4mm, 10mm, and a 20mm), with his Travel Scope 70 to show the different magnification each provides. To measure the magnification for each eyepiece, take the focal length of your telescope and divide it by the focal length of eyepiece.

06.01.2022 This amazing image was taken by @astro.pova with the #CelestronEdgeHD8 NGC 3576 - Statue of Liberty Nebula... This edges out Pillars of Creation as our favourite image taken with the big Edge 8 HD from metropolitan Sydney. Gear: - Asi1600mm camera and ZWO narrowband filters - Skywatcher AZEQ6-GT mount - Celestron Edge 8 HD with matching reducer. - Software: Deep Sky Stacker, Photoshop, Denoise AI. This was the first setup we purchased back in 2018 from Bintel, Sydney. It was pretty interesting learning astrophotography with such a large scope when most suggest to go with a small, fast refractor. We wanted something that was a jack-of-all-trades (galaxies, planets, DSO) to start but eventually moved to small and medium refractors for their wider field and sharper images. #celestron #celestronaustralia #celestronuniverse #celestronrocks #celestrontelescope #astro #astrophotos #astrophotography #ig_astrophotography #universetoday #universe #telescope #space #deepsky #nightphotography #night_captures #nightsky #stars #space #nebula #statueofliberty #statueoflibertynebula

04.01.2022 The guys at Celestron USA testing out the StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ at their office in a brightly lit industrial section of light-polluted Torrance, California. The number of celestial objects the StarSense Explorer picked up under these conditions was truly amazing. Early users are saying they're able to easily find objects even though they've never used a telescope before! We'll be showing the new Celestron StarSense Explorer under (hopefully) less light polluted skies in Perth this weekend as part of Starfest. Come along and see it for yourself. #celestronaustralia #celestronrocks #starsense #telescope #astro #astronomy #telescope #smartastronomy #gototelescope #starfest #astronomywa

04.01.2022 Congrats to Dylan for this great spot on Channel 9's "My Way 2020" about his journey into astronomy and astrophotography. Some cool Celestron telescopes and mounts shown as well!

02.01.2022 The most revolutionary Telescope in 2020

02.01.2022 Short video of the Moon taken by young aspiring astronomer @cosmic_claudia through her Celestron 8 EdgeHD telescope mounted on Celestron Advanced VX Mount using a Canon EOS Kiss DSLR camera. It gives you a good idea of what viewing the Moon through a telescope is like. Why is the Moon shaking in this video? Unsteadiness in the air, mainly caused by small therma currents, causes this shaking and shimmering. Astronomers refer to the steadiness of the air as the "seeing". It's... the same reason stars appear to twinkle. Objects view near the horizon and through a thick "slice" of the atmosphere will show more disturbance. Waiting for astro objects to be further up in the sky away from the ground is one way to minimize the turbulence in the air for better seeing .Taking a video of bright objects like the Moon or planets and then using software to extra poorer quality frames from the video before finally stacking the rest together to form a clearer image is one technique astronomers use to help avoid poor seeing conditions as well. Thank for tagging us Claudia! #celestronaustralia #celestronc8 #moon #moonlight #fullmoon #astrophotography #celestron #lunar #lunarphotography #telescope #astro #astronomy #celestronavx #canoneos #canonkissm @canonaustralia

01.01.2022 Another great video showing how easy it is to use the new Celestron StarSense Explorer telescopes. We'll be running some public nights in Sydney in near future where you can come along and check it out! (That's if the smoke haze ever clears... )
