Really any negative emotions you can think of. Back then I thought, walking around the block won’t make a difference. Well, now being a mama myself I understand.... Breathing in nature gives presence. When we spend time outdoors, we are more mindful of what we see, hear, smell and what we feel. Nature helps in emotional regulation and improves memory functions. Studies have shown that people suffering from mild to major depressive disorders showed significant mood upliftments when exposed to nature. Not only that, but they also felt more motivated and energised to recover and get back to normalcy. Spending nature makes us more grateful for the simple things in life. And in addition to that, I always feel like as soon as my boys are outdoors they’re simply happier, more content and get along better. Maybe you’re already doing wind down walks, or maybe you’ll try it next time when you’re having one of those days.
