14.01.2022 Does anyone remember this - the LifePak 5? First released by Physio-Control in 1976 it only had manual mode functionality, as AED was still in R&D. The original model had no Lead Selector switch and only displayed a single Lead. If the paramedic wanted to look at an alternate Lead I, II or III), it required physically moving the wires to the correct electrode positions. The LifePak 5 is now on display at the Museum of History & Industry in Seattle, Washington.

14.01.2022 Should GP clinics be equipped with defibrillators? Research from the British Heart Foundation shows clinics who have a defibrillator available can improve survival rates up to 60% if the patient is treated immediately or soon after suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The LifePak 1000 debfibrillator provides better patient outcomes through safe, effective dosing of defibrillator shocks. It provides AED mode with optional manual capability at the touch of a button. The large screen gives highly visible graphics & text. Lifesaving made simple.

13.01.2022 Automated CPR Compression Devices Save EMS Providers Backs Raise your hand if you have ever had a sore back from a long run of CPR while working a cardiac arrest. Prolonged compressions by any individual not only hurts you, but it also hurts your patients chances of survival. Many studies have shown a significant reduction in effectiveness of compressions after just a few minutes of CPR.... Automated CPR assist devices like the LUCAS from Physio-Control dont get tired. This translates to a more rested and efficient EMS provider and more importantly into higher cardiac arrest survival rates.
