15.01.2022 Below is A Message from a reputable pedigree dog owner. we here support ANKC Pedigree Bred dogs ,We also and support pound patrol and other rescues to he...lp get these dogs into there forever loving homes. #banbackyardbreeders #Ankc #supportpoundpatrol #supportrescues My purchase of a well bred purebred did not sentence another dog to death. My purchase of a well bred purebred did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter. Me wanting any dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted. My meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not who you should be pushing the blame onto. I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either, they are carefully placed. It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, my choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death. A good breeder health tests, has good temperaments studies pedigrees, proves a dog is worthy of being bred to a bitch, and breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed to improve, is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs. The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by registered reputable ANKC breeders, and those who purchase from them. Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem. Your friend who impulse bought a dog at PetLand IS contributing to the problem. That guy on Gumtree pumping out the trendiest crossbred designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem. The girl who bort two unpapered dogs from a backyarder, decides to breed untested dogs, she thinks shes doing the breed a favour, she is not!!! Your relative who just HAS to let their dog just have one litter so she can experience motherhood or because she’s just so sweet and cute IS contributing to the problem. Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem. A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support. A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with. A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them, or help rehome the dog into a more suitable place, should you find yourself unable of keeping it. Honour that trust they gave you. It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is very misplaced. If you take a deeper look, you will find many reputable breeders ,and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes. 15.01.2022 HOW TO MAKE TURMERIC 2000% STRONGER WITH A HOMEMADE PASTE TO HELP SMASH CANCER & ARTHRITIS! It is estimated that 10% of cancer is genetic and 90% is a result o...f lifestyle and environmental factors. Over 6 million (and growing) dogs die from cancer each year! More than 1 in 2 dogs and 1 in 3 cats are diagnosed with cancer. A new turmeric study reveals that one of the world's most extensively researched herbs has the ability to selectively target and destroy cancer stem cells, while having little to no toxicity on normal stem cells. This means that, unlike chemotherapy which will destroy regular healthy cells, turmeric will only go after cancer cells in you and your pets! The only problem is with using turmeric to smash cancer or to heal inflammation like arthritis is its low bioavailability when eaten on its own. You see, approximately 5% of the spice turmeric is composed of the active compound curcumin and this is the stuff that gives turmeric its power. Then, to top it all off, turmeric root is poorly absorbed across the G.I. tract and is rapidly cleared from the blood. If pets or people are given turmeric root, within an hour, there’s a little tiny bit that actually makes its way into their blood stream. The reason for this is because the liver is actively trying to get rid of it! So, while a ton of pet owners may be giving their pets turmeric, most are seeing little to no results. FEAR NOT! THERE IS A SOLUTION! There’s an easy-to-make recipe that will actually make turmeric root powder, and its power-punching curcumin, over 2000% more readily available to your pet’s body! The solution? An old Ayurvedic recipe called Turmeric Paste (aka Golden Paste) that has been prepared in India for thousands of years! How is it prepared in India? With fat and black pepper. Amazing how they could figure that out without double blind trials. (Though maybe it just tastes good, and it’s merely coincidence?) -Michael Greger, M.D A source of fresh ground black pepper and a healthy fat can turn this solo herb, turmeric, into a super powerful rock band! According to research, about 5% of black pepper by weight is comprised of a compound called piperine, which enhances the bioavailability of Turmeric. Australian Vet, Dr. Doug English, advises to add freshly ground peppercorns (piperine) to your mixture of turmeric root, piperine will increase intestinal absorption allowing time for the curcumin to be taken up into the blood stream. By taking just a quarter teaspoon’s worth of black pepper, you see curcumin (turmeric root) levels skyrocket. The same amount of curcumin consumed, but the bioavailability shoots up 2000%. Even just a little pinch of pepper1/20th of a teaspooncan significantly boost levels. -Michael Greger, M.D Not only can adding fresh ground pepper make turmeric more bioavailable but piperine in black pepper can trigger TRPV1 (transient receptor potential vanilloid type-1) in the body. This triggering can reduce pain! Ok, so why the coconut oil? According to research: Another way to boost the absorption of curcumin is to consume it in the whole food, turmeric root (fresh or dried as a powder) because natural oils found in turmeric root and turmeric powder can enhance the bioavailability of curcumin seven to eight fold. When eaten with fat, curcumin can be directly absorbed into the bloodstream through the lymphatic system thereby in part bypassing the liver. You can use good clean organic fats like olive oil, fish oil or, my favorite, coconut oil! For more on coconut oil - https://www.facebook.com//a.24977628509/1017239048350977/ THE RECIPE First source the following ingredients - - cup of organic turmeric root powder - 1 cup of clean spring or filtered water (may need more) - up to 1 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper (fresh is always best because of the piperine levels) - cup organic cold pressed virgin coconut oil (you can also use olive oil) Here’s how easy it is: just mix the turmeric root powder with the 1 cup of water in a pan or pot, you may need to add more water if needed. Stir the mixture on medium/low heat and in about 7 to 10 minutes, it should form a thick paste. (If your paste looks runny, just add a bit more turmeric and heat it for another couple of minutes.) Once turned into a paste, add the fresh cracked pepper and coconut oil, and then stir it up! Once cool, place the paste in a mason jar and store it in your fridge. The paste should last for about 2 weeks. Start with about to tsp, depending on the size of your dog. You can increase the amount from there, up to about a Tbsp for larger dogs. Cats - start with 1/8 of a teaspoon of turmeric paste and build up over time if needed. Humans - start with 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric paste 3 times a day and then build up to desired level. *NOTE: Follow dosage in the writeup and not the photo. 07.01.2022 Sharing a post for people’s information!! Blue Staffords! This is going to be a lengthy post, and I'll probably still leave things out ha!... I know there is a lot of confusion about blue dogs and their colouring, so I thought I'd try and clear up a few common misconceptions Blue is a recessive gene in our breed. It sits on the D Locus and it causes all black pigmentation to dilute. This includes skin, ear leather, nose leather, nails, coat etc. The only way a Stafford can have a blue phenotype (the characteristics you see on the outside) is if they are dd on the D locus. A dog who carries blue but is another colour like black brindle for example will be Dd so they have one copy of the gene. Because it is recessive, they need two copies to display as a dilute. Staffords do not carry the dominant black gene (this is on the K Locus). So it's genetically impossible for a Stafford to be "True Black". They will have some minimal amount of brindle or potentially are a reverse brindle. The only way to tell this is to look at their genotype (basically the genetics they're made of). Brindle is a pattern which also sits on the K Locus and is usually displayed as KBr (however there is still some murkiness around testing for brindle accurately). The brindle pattern is kinda like a raincoat, so your dog is a colour and then depending on the intensity of the pattern your dog carries, determines how much brindle they display. So back to blue dogs, there is no such thing as a "Solid Blue". They will be brindled somewhere. This is what gives many of them the "washed out browny" colouring, the more intense their brindle pattern, the more brown they will look. They also all will have blue noses. The variation in nose colour comes from pigmentation. So, if you have a poorly pigmented dog, their nose will be lighter. It is possible for a blue dogs nose to be "Blue Black" or appear almost black, but it is genetically impossible for your blue dog to have a truly black nose. Essentially a blue dog is just a black brindle that's been diluted to blue brindle The main issue responsible breeders have with blue dogs is one day, someone discovered the colour by accident. The colour became popular, and once people realised how to get the colour, they were overbred forgoing temperament, structure and health. Hence why many blue dogs have health issues. The best way to breed a blue dog is to have at least one black parent, if not two. And this is what you, as a prospective puppy owner, should look for when purchasing a puppy. No one should be charging extra for colour, whether that is blue, red, brindle, or pink. At the end of the day, they are all Staffords, and we all love our dogs whether they are blue, black, pink, orange or purple. (Originally posted by Eamonn-Louiise Pearless)
