18.01.2022 Paul Brady and Arty McGlynn are on the bill for BBC Lock-in Fleadh tonight. The pair refined their playing in the dancehalls of Ireland in the showband days and... you can hear those influences pop out even when they play reels and jigs. Arty revolutionised the fingerpicking style and reformed the place of the guitar in Irish traditional music, placing him amongst the legends of the tradition after his death last year. Tune in at 9:30pm on BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio Foyle and BBC NI Live (link in comments.) See more

15.01.2022 Launch day is here! The crowdfunding campaign for my 'Music and Friendship' book project has just gone live at Pozible - you can help me make this project a rea...lity by visiting https://www.pozible.com/profile/adam-purcell-2 and making a pledge! There are some great stories here, and I'd really appreciate your help so I can share them as far as I can. It is a very strange time to be running a crowdfunding project, in the middle of a global pandemic, and I feel a bit weird asking people for money. I realise not everyone will have the means to make a financial contribution, and that's OK. You can still support the project by sharing this post, telling your friends, spreading the word. The more people who know about the project, the better the chances of bringing it to life! Comhaltas Melbourne Comhaltas #melbourneceilicamera #MusicAndFriendship

I had the pleasure of recording this one with Gerard Farrelly and Sinead Stone a few years back....now available for download or a free listen on https://columsands.bandcamp.com/track/song-for-adam-and-eve.
