17.01.2022 had some initial programming fun with freestyler last night and have to say I dont mind it at all. the touch interface works really well with my 23inch control pc and it has a native touch control window just to put icing on the cake. I can foresee some very fun nights programming shows coming up

I am going to give recommendations for lighting production for people looking for it, some people not mentioned don't cut the grade realistically and others dont need my recommendation but a simple look at video and photos of peoples gigs tells the truth. 13.01.2022 Recently a situation occurred where I pulled out of a gig at short notice due to the situation changing. 2 weeks out from a gig I was asked if I could provide additional gear for others and I simply didnt have it nor did I have the capacity to transport more equipment than I had already quoted to bring. A van and trailer can only carry so much. I was up front and tried to find a solution, offering ideas that may solve the problem and referring the issue to the promoter after ...the request was made for gear to solve a problem by the stage production manager. Promoters by nature try to get blood out of stones, I am not stupid and understand they have to try and get the best bang for buck and I understand this. On this occasion, the promoter replied and was less than business-like or helpful. I got the feeling that something was not right and had people present read what I was reading in case I was off point, I wasnt. Someone I called a friend was not being honest and it was pretty obvious so I called them out. I got bile in return and personal attacks, I wasn't in anyway angry just being me.. not taking shit or swallowing it, I was shocked. If a friend said to me hey we cant go forward with you at the gig we havent sold enough tickets I would have been 100% ok, its no loss to me and I care about people and want them to do well. That wasnt what happened and I felt very sad that a person I called a friend showed me zero understanding, patience, capacity to work up a solution. It became very obvious the person really was not a friend. A friend asks what is wrong, a friend doesn't ridicule a mate, a friend is honest with their mates. I came away with one thought, if a friend only contacts you when they require something and they piss on you when you dont do what they want then they were never a friend to begin with. See more

09.01.2022 So 2014 is coming to an end and the festival season is in full swing. This has been my 25th year of playing music professionally in one form or another and will be finished off at Indigo Evolution on New Years Eve. I look back and am so thankful for all the wonderful people I have met and partied, played to, worked with over the years. I thank my wonderful Wife and family for putting up with me and I thank my friends for being who they are through good and bad. I made a decis...ion to follow my gut and write what I write no matter what others may think and have worn the results of that good and bad. People either get it or don't which I am 100% OK with. Doing this had let me be able to experiment with all aspects of my musical talents, play instruments, singing, programing and using old school mixing styles from the era I did my initial production learning in (and that's a while ago now lol). This is the direction I have been taking for the last 2 years and a complete departure from what cenobite was has been a personally rewarding journey. What I do believe in is entertaining people, as performers we are there to effect and get reactions from people. Too many people just sit there and go through the motions when playing live where as I totally believe we are there to put on a show. We are the entertainment and we are there to entertain so go sick and enjoy the moment in the lights as it stays with you your whole life and when its gone you will miss it dearly.
