17.01.2022 When is the coronavirus vaccine coming out you ask? Hopefully multiple vaccines will be available within the next 10-18 months. Why multiple vaccinations? It's a virus and unfortunately they can mutate. There have been roughly ten minor gene mutations already documented since the original virus was first seen, roughly six months ago in Wuhan, China. The good news is, that CoViD-19 isn't as complicated and is actual more stable than many other human viral infections. Multiple... vaccines would protect against multiple gene mutations. Why so long before it's available? It's a big job. It needs to be developed, trialled and demonstrated to be safe for human use. If the virus keeps mutating, will the vaccine still be effective? 09.01.2022 With the amount of syphilis cases rising rapidly across Australia and throughout many other countries around the world, it's important to be aware of this infection. Being an STI it's spread through sexual transmission. The bacteria can be tested for and can be treated with antibiotics. It's important to not only treat yourself, but also your partner(s). There are four stages of syphilis, during the first and second stage, patients commonly present with a rash as shown in the... picture below. The rash appears as painless and non-itchy sores, these sores can appear in several places around the body, including (unusually) the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. 07.01.2022 As many people continue to ask, here are the general rules for self-isolation / self-quarantine in South Australia. You must remain in quarantine for 14 days if you have just returned to Australia from overseas OR have been in contact with somebody testing positive for coronavirus. You must test negative to coronavirus testing prior to release from quarantine and show no signs of symptoms, including fever, difficulty breathing and/or cough.
