24.01.2022 The Australian Dental Association Queensland has advised that QLD go from the level 2 to level 3. This means that they are asking dental professionals to only see patients as an emergency basis. Unfortunately this does not include denture work. In light of this advice from ADAQ we have decided to close our doors until further notice. We do not take the COVID-19 lightly and we WILL be reopening after this is over. ... Current patients are asked to be patient as this situation resolves and you will be contacted before your appointment and rescheduled. You can still call us and book in for an appointment from 1st of May onward and hopefully we are open by then! Stay at home! You could save a life. It could even be yours...

12.01.2022 During Dental Health Week (5 - 11 August), Centenary Family Denture Clinic is offering free denture checks to help educate Australians about the importance of maintaining good oral health in every aspect of their lives and to Watch Your Mouth when it comes to oral hygiene. It is important to see your Dental Prosthetist annually for a denture check-up and if you experience any pain from your dentures make an appointment. A well-made denture will fit comfortably, function well and look natural. This is only the case if your dentures are well maintained through annual checks. Due to technical and clinical advancements, dentures are no longer viewed as second-rate replacements for natural teeth.

09.01.2022 This is why we do not recommend brushing your dentures with toothpaste. Toothpaste is an abrasive and will cause damage in the form of wear. It will leave your denture scratched and more likely to harbour bacteria which can cause further issues inside your mouth. We recommend the following steps: 1. Brush your denture with a SOFT toothbrush and dishwashing liquid under warm water (its plastic, kind of like Tupperware for your mouth). Yes, you can get pastes for use with den...tures from your chemist but this is cheaper and works well. Rinse it well! I just keep brushing under running water until all the bubbles are gone. 2. Do not put it in the dishwasher, yes some people do, its too hot and may warp your denture. Do not use mint or anything mint related. The natural mint oils react with the denture monomers and also cause wear. 3. Rinse for 30 seconds under running warm water and put into denture soak. The first step will mean your soak will last longer as your denture is now clean. Go back and read the first step again. 4. Rinse again really well after soaking and before wearing your denture again to get rid of all residue. 5. Do not forget to brush your gums and natural teeth with a different SOFT tooth brush and toothpaste, not your denture. 6. Now you have a nice clean denture...Enjoy your smile . Still dirty? We have also put our infection control into the next level with a ful...l environmental clean of the reception area between patients and also a second decontamination over and above the normal of the clinic before entry of the next patient.
