20.01.2022 What made our ambassadors who they are today? Scouts.

17.01.2022 Our Scout Unit attended a 4 day camp in Bundaberg with our friends from Nashville Scouts. We managed to squeeze in a 8km hike, feeding local fish, eating local fish n chips at the beach, beach swimming, full day of abseiling, campfire night, badge making, loads of card games and corn hole toss, ate so much good food, visited a bird sanctuary where llamas might of spat at us and birds sat on our heads/shoulders.

17.01.2022 Our Scout Unit had a joint camp with Nashville Scout Unit this weekend. So grateful to make new scouting friends and enjoy a busy weekend together. We went on a 7km hike over some rolling hills, played some serious games of Uno and Spotit, tried our hand at trying to make our own Turks Head woggles, had a fun/loud campfire, did some stilt walking, met a few cows, bush turkeys and huge lizards, built our own obstacle course and had a tug of war challenge. Thanks to our amazing Scouts for a fabulous weekend together.

14.01.2022 Hey Joeys, Cubs and Scouts. Here is a wonderful opportunity for you all. This is a fantastic example of a Community Challenge for your Youth Program. This would count as a Participate under both Community and Outdoor Milestones. Getting out into our community and engaging with other programs as a volunteer. You will find this in Record Books, make sure you document it if you attend and show your Leaders or Unit Council.

11.01.2022 Last night we had our fathers attend and they helped us make our possum boxes. Thanks to Mitre 10 for the donation of the wood, we were able to make 15 boxes. We then had a camp fire. Happy Father’s Day Dads.

06.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of National Child Protection Week, where we acknowledge the many ways big and small we can all make a difference in the lives of c...hildren and young people. This year’s theme, Putting Children First, highlights the importance of prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. At Scouts Queensland, we are committed to putting this into practice. Empowering our children and young people is at the heart of our organisation and underpins all the work we do and the decisions we take. We are committed to safeguarding the youth in our care, and creating an environment where all our members are safe, supported and protected. For more information about how we achieve this please see our website.

03.01.2022 The Queensland Government has announced a tightening of COVID-19 restrictions effective 8am this morning (22 /8 /20). These changes are targeting the residenti...al sector and DO NOT APPLY to Scouts Queensland because we are operating under an approved industry COVID Safe Plan. We need to maintain our compliance with QBSI 7.15 and in particular cough and sneeze protocals, hand washing/ sanitising and social distancing. Enjoy your Scouting! See more
