21.01.2022 27/6/20 The stone tops are installed, the sinks, troughs and basins are all fitted and final adjustments to any doors and drawers are made. The rangehood and any strip lighting in or under the cabinets is installed. The ceiling contractors come back and install any missing cornice.

18.01.2022 The tiling will take several days sometimes up to a couple of weeks, it is manual labour and each tile has to be laid individually and tiles will have to be cut to fit one at a time. Here our client wanted to have a feature wall of ceramic tiles flowing from outside to inside as the front entry door is a glazed door, they can be seen from both inside and outside. Our clients requested full height tiling to all the bathrooms. When we install full height tiling, it is laid to the underside of the cornice.

15.01.2022 The tiler comes in and does the screeds to the wet area floors. He will need clean sand and bricks for any hobs and underneath an wet area cabinets. Once the screeds are dry, the waterproofer comes and paints the waterproof membrane in the shower recesses. The waterproofing has takes a couple of days to dry and then the tiler can come back and start laying the tiles.

08.01.2022 Sometimes, due to the amount of cabinets in the home, it will take several trips for installation. Even though this is a smaller home on a rear strata block, the cabinetwork in the home is extensive, so several trips were needed. The handles are installed covered with plastic to help stop them getting scratched. Drawer units and doors are fitted and when they are all on, the cabinetmaker may need to adjust the hinges or rollers, to ensure they are all aligned correctly. it’s now starting to come together, it looks very stark at the moment as there are no contrasting tops or splashbacks in yet, once they go in, it will make a massive difference.

08.01.2022 Once the tiling is finished, the shower screens, mirrors and sliding doors can be measured. The painter starts, and dependent on the weather, he may start outside.. The grano hardstand (garage floor) prep and site clean is done, ready to be poured. Once the grano is down, the garage door can be measured. Before the painter starts painting he will put dropsheets around to protect the surfaces, If he is painting the walls he may even put plastic over the windows

04.01.2022 The electrician will come and pull through the wires ready for the lights and power points, they may even cut holes in the ceilings for the exhaust fans. The cabinets are installed. Generally when there are stone tops, the carcasses, doors and panels are fitted and the stone tops are fitted at a later date. When there are cabinets that go to the ceiling, the cornice will need to be fitted afterwards, so the ceiling contractors will come back to site and fit the lengths they weren’t able to fit before.
