23.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! We hope you all had a great holiday break! As we prepare for re-opening tomorrow we are planning for the most recent COVID-19 occurrences. With the increase in Sydney cases and families travelling during the holidays, we are taking extra precautions. ... Central Health Alliance endeavours to keep our patients, staff and visitors safe and well while we continue to provide medical care to all patients were appropriate. We ask again that all patients bring a mask to your appointment. You will continue to be asked the safety questions as before. This will include any symptoms outlined by NSW Health and any travel to the greater Sydney area, as well as the Central Coast and Blue Mountains. We ask that if you have travelled to any identified hotspots in the last 14 days that you inform staff. Further triage may take place to be sure that an in-practice visit is safe. Telehealth appointment will be arranged with your Doctor if an in-house appointment is not possible, and you may be advised to arrange an appointment to have a COVID-19 swab. The NSW Government is recommending all patients presenting with even the mildest symptoms get tested, this is in order to prevent further spread of the virus. When attending the Practice for an appointment we ask that you remain in your car and send a text message on arrival to 0435 710 035 with your name and date of birth. Our reception staff will arrive you on receipt of your text message and will contact you on your mobile when the Doctor is ready to take you through to their room. Our reception staff are once again instructed to ask thesafety questions again. We understand that this may be frustrating but it is to keep you all safe and to allow us to continue treating our patients. We ask that only the patient requiring the appointment attends unless under the age of 16 or if a support person is required. please let our reception staff know so that they can allow for this to occur. We ask for your patience during this period as our reception staff are doing an amazing job and are fielding a large volume of phone calls which may take longer than usual for them to answer. Kindest regards Central Health Alliance Management

22.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone. Please be aware that Newcastle Airport is doing road works on the new roundabout today which is causing long delays. Please allow extra time to arrive for your appointment and if you know the way, possibly go around the back via the Williamtown Community Hall.

21.01.2022 We have been informed that a local Medowie practice is closing as of today and have had several enquiries from patients wanting to be on CHA books. Unfortunately we are short staffed with doctors moving and going on holidays and therefore are not accepting any new patients until February next year. We understand the frustration but must prioritise the service for our current regular patients. We appreciate your understanding. Regards from the CHA Doctors and Staff.

04.01.2022 Good evening everyone. Unfortunately due to the recent developments with COVID-19 cases increase and holiday travellers, CHA and Port Stephens Integral Health are once again requiring masks when attending appointments. We will also be restricting appointment attendees which means no one other than the person booked in will be able to enter the building (exceptions for dependent children and people requiring carers). If you have been to any of the advertised hot spots or be...en in contact with anyone who has, please do not attend the practice. Telehealth appointment will be available for anyone who is identified as fitting the NSW Health current guidelines for COVID-19 testing. No one fitting the guidelines will be permitted to attend the practice. The regular safety questions will continue to be asked. If you are found to give false or misleading answers you will be ejected from the practice immediately. We apologise for the necessity for these measures but feel it is necessary to keep our patients, staff and the greater community safe.

04.01.2022 Good morning again. As more confirmed cases are identified in the local area, CHA and PSIH are stepping up our defences against COVID-19. Our number one priority is the protection of our staff and patients so as of today, In addition to the protocols already put in place, we are now requiring all patients that attend the surgery to wear a face covering to their appointments. ... We understand that this may be an inconvenience to some, but we feel we are at the point where we must take all possible precautions to prevent further spread of this pandemic. The staff will also be re-screening today’s appointments to include the newly published list of confirmed cases in the hunter. We wish everyone the best and stay safe. https://www.facebook.com/182454457590/posts/10158430321607591/?d=n
