25.01.2022 We have a new website! Check it out for season fixtures, standings as well as all other current club info...

24.01.2022 Central Park 3rds travelled down to take on runaway league leaders Sandringham today. With Sandy having scored 12 goals in their first two games, Rangers knew they would have a tough game on their hands and spent most of the hard-fought game in defensive mode. Unfortunately 2 extremely well placed goals gave Sandy the points but Rangers walked away with their heads high having played well across the park.

24.01.2022 Couldn't ask for better conditions for the Thirds game at home today: Brilliant blue sky and just a hint of a breeze to keep players cool. Hosting Riversdale, Central Park were on a mission to get the 3 points and get their season back on track. Despite the opposition's massive improvement since the last meeting the game was mostly well controlled by Rangers. A hat-trick to Ren (who also had a 4th wrongly disallowed) and a single goal to Graeme saw the home side comfortably win 4-2.

24.01.2022 Round one kicked off today with Rangers travelling to face a more youthful Ashburton. Under brilliant sunshine Rangers comfortably controlled most of the match and ran out winners 3-0. The only negative for the day was Rangers squandering opportunities up front and failing to put away 3 or 4 more easy goals. Scorers: Clavey 2, Annabell

23.01.2022 Like our new club emblem? We thought it was about time we stopped using the poorly edited QPR one!!!

21.01.2022 Another nice win for the Under 35s today over a very youthful Ashburton. A goal in each half gave Ren a delicious double

21.01.2022 The Masters continued their strong early season form with a 1-1 draw away to South Yarra today. Both sides hit the bar before some loose midfield play allowed South Yarra to take the lead through a well hit shot that gave Mark no chance. Central spent long periods of the game on top and grabbed a deserved equaliser when Nick H played Nick J through and he finished clinically, despite the screams for offside.

21.01.2022 Great start to the season for the Under 35s today with a 6-1 win over Albert Park. Some rusty finishing and a particularly cracking save by their keeper stopped us from romping to double figures on the scoreboard. Goals: Graeme (pen) Nick... Lucas Gary 2 And an Own Goal See more

20.01.2022 Rangers travelled to Frog Hollow Reserve this morning to take on a very youthful looking Riversdale. Due to a bye to the Masters team, a couple of 35s chipped in to help with numbers and boy was the first half a display. In less than 10 minutes Rangers went 1 up via a simple tap in for Eamon. Riversdale looked lost and could only manage to take the ball into their attacking half twice in the first 15 minutes as the older and more experienced Rangers taught them a lesson. 2 mo...re goals had Rangers in the box seat at half time and the focus for the second half wasn't to score more goals but to keep a clean sheet. While Riversdale managed to string a few passes together and get a couple of corners, the second half was again a Rangers affair and we were unlucky not to snag a couple more. Final score: Riversdale 0-3 Central Park Scorers: Eamon Alex Lauchlan See more

20.01.2022 The Masters took a strong team for the night game at Templestowe United's impressive David Barro Stadium. It was Templestowe who started strongest and they went ahead through a rare moment of poor marking; a free kick was flicked on leaving a United player with a simple tap in. Central rallied and created a couple of good openings with Danny rounding the keeper only for a defender to scramble his effort wide and then Aaron heading a deep corner over the bar. 1-0 Templesto...we at half time. Central Park came out for the second half and dominated play for the next 45 minutes through smart passing and some strong forward running. Chances went begging with Ted clipping the bar from range and Mark M unable to scramble the ball home. With around 20 minutes to go Central finally got the goal their play had deserved with Nick H playing a dangerous free kick into the box where Rani got the decisive touch to head the ball into the net. 1-1. Central pushed forward for the win and created numerous chances including Ted trying to break the crossbar and Darren being denied by the keeper after a strong run and shot. Finally the winner came 4 minutes from time. Ted was fouled on the edge of the box while shooting and the same player stepped up to clip a free kick over the wall and beyond the keeper. 1-2. Central saw the game out comfortably and should have added another when Darren slid the ball across to Ben but his shot drifted wide of the post.

20.01.2022 The Masters were unlucky today away to Monash City, who lead the league and haven't yet tasted defeat. 2-0 down early, Central made adjustments and frustrated Monash's supply while breaking with real threat. Ted pulled one back with a long range effort before half time to put Central back in the game. Central were on top for most of the second half, with Monash resorting to counter attacking. Nick G hit the bar, Joe hit the post and presentable chances came and went before... a hiked ball forward caught us out and settled the affair late on. A great team effort and something to build on against a good Juventus team next week.

20.01.2022 Get down to Central Park today to see our over 35s team try and snag their first win of the season against Riversdale. Kick off at 1pm

19.01.2022 The Thirds continued their impressive start to the season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Ashburton today. With everyone playing well the only downside was not converting more chances! Next week we take on runaway league leaders St Kilda at home

18.01.2022 Despite no subs on the bench the Thirds ground out a very satisfying 3-0 away win over Boroondara/Carey today. Goals: Brandon 2, Ren 1

18.01.2022 After a 2-4 win at Middle Park last week, the Masters enjoyed further success on the road at high flying Chisholm's impressive synthetic pitch. From the start Central were on top; patiently holding their shape and hurting Chisholm with the ball. 10 minutes in and Rod latched onto a through ball, outpaced the defender and calmly finished across the keeper. Further chances included Ted hitting the bar and then being denied a clear penalty when brought down in the area. After... the penalty appeal, Chisholm went straight up the other end and were awarded a very soft one themselves. Thankfully they hit the bar and Central held a deserved one goal lead at half time. If the ref's performance in the first half could be described as poor, then the less said about the second half the better. Central started the half well and Uti doubled the lead with a calm finish after a great run and pass from Peter C. Chisholm finally got some momentum and their pressure paid when Rani instinctively handled in the box. The penalty award compounded by the showing of a second yellow card. Chisholm scored this time and were ready to push for goals against Central's ten men. From that point, Central were exceptional and dominated the game with calm possession and quick breaks that Chisholm couldn't live with. First Nick H slammed home from the edge of the box. Central now looked like scoring with every attack providing they didn't give the linesboy or referee a decision to make and Rod added a fourth after latching onto a backpass. The best goal of the night was saved for last as Uti received the ball with his back to goal, spun his defender with his first touch, before arcing onto his left foot and finishing at the near post. A very impressive 1-5 win... and left to wonder what we could do if we played on these kind of pitches every week!

18.01.2022 Season 2014 kicked off today with Central Park hosting South Yarra FC. Only 15 minutes in Yarra were awarded a penalty for a soft tug on their striker's arm and converted to take an early lead. Rangers quickly equalized thru Nick Jones and the rest of the first half was a very even affair with both teams struggling to assert themselves. A second goal shortly before half time put South Yarra in the box seat. Throughout the second half a dominant Rangers side pushed forward time and again but were unlucky not to score and in the end had to settle for a 2-1 loss.

18.01.2022 Tough day for CPR yesterday. The 3rds battled hard but lost 3-0 to a younger, faster and much fitter North Caulfield team. Having a huge bench started as an inconvenience but ended as a blessing as injuries ravaged the Rangers throughout the game. In the first 20 minutes Ben had to replace Brendan in goal after a groin injury, Jars limped off before half time and couldn't return and finally we lost our captain Neil late in the game to a re-aggravated leg injury. It should be... mentioned that both Ben and Brendan had great stints with the gloves, saving us from conceding many more goals! Not without our chances, Rangers just couldn't quite finish in the final third and remained scoreless. In the second game of the day, the Masters had their work cut out for them against Waverley Victory. Waverley looked the stronger team across the park and their twice a week training routine unfortunately put Central Park's more casual approach to shame. A hard day at the office for the Ranger's defenders chasing countless attacking runs ended with a disappointing 7-2 loss.

17.01.2022 The Over 35s also had a perfect start to the season with a 2-1 win over Templestowe at home. Goals: Aaron and Duncan

16.01.2022 Both teams are back at home this Sunday. The Thirds will have their work cut out for them against current league leaders North Caulfied SC at 1pm followed by the Masters team who will be looking for their first win at 3pm against Waverley Victory.

14.01.2022 A home win for the Masters! After going 1-0 down to Healesville against the run of play, Central rallied and levelled just before half time through Mark M. The second half was all Central, and goals from Rod, Nick and Dunc (2) sealed a 5-1 win.

13.01.2022 Good performance today from the Masters in the early kick off at South Yarra. Slightly unfortunate be 2-0 down at the break, Central started the second half well and Uti pulled one back after great pressure by Dunc. With 10 minutes to go South Yarra looked to have sealed the points when they added a third but Peter C knocked in a rebound after good work from Rod and then Nick G rifled one in the top corner from range with almost the last kick of the game.... A well deserved point at a team that's been in good form.

11.01.2022 In the second game at Central Park today the Masters had to settle with sharing the points with Ashburton. Unfortunately Rangers had to kick into the win in the first half and trailed 0-1 at half time. Similar to the Thirds, many wasted opportunities in the second half and despite getting an equaliser, the general feeling was it was a missed opportunity for a deserved win. Final score 1-1

11.01.2022 Some pics of the 2 teams after our last games for 2015

10.01.2022 The Masters managed a comfortable 2-0 win at Riversdale on Sunday. Central Park dominated possession from the start but somehow failed to score in the first half despite some great football and very presentable chances. The half time talk was to test the keeper more and it didn't take long for Brendan to rattle a 25 yarder into the top corner, making up for his earlier contender for miss of the season! 1-0 Central Park.... Riversdale never looked like getting back into the game and the only surprise was that it took until 5 minutes from time for Central to ice the game. After more neat football Denis collected the ball with his back to goal, took on the defender and hit a sublime chip over the keeper from the right side of the box. 2-0 and game over.

09.01.2022 Both Rangers teams will be in action tomorrow at our home ground: Central Park (corner Bourke and Wattletree Roads, Malvern) The men's team kick off at 1pm vs Bayside Argonauts, the masters will follow at 3pm vs Fitzroy.

09.01.2022 With a bye for the regular team, only the over 35s Masters Team represented Central Park on Sunday playing away at Ashburton. With torrential rain an hour before kick off the Masters were greeted by a howling wind and a pretty greasy surface. At half time saw it was 2-0 to Ashburton after a wayward clearance kick unfortunately found an opposition player who neatly tucked it away for the opener and a converted penalty late in the half for the second. Renewed purpose and playin...g down the slope saw Rangers attack the second half with more gusto. Goals to Neil and Gerry saw the Rangers in with the chance of points but a late break for Ashburton saw them attacking goal with numerical advantage and a nice finish killed off the Rangers hopes. Final score Ashburton 3 Central Park 2. Next weekend the Masters face a big test at home vs Fitzroy.

08.01.2022 Convincing win to the Thirds today. It was blowing a gale so when we won the toss we took full advantage and kicked with the wind. Rangers relentlessly pushed forward and hammered shots at the Riversdale goal but a lack of accuracy saw countless wasted opportunities. Nice finishes from Graham and new recruit Gary had the home team 2-0 up at half time but realistically we could've had a dozen more. Rangers played the second half into the wind perfectly, the team focusing on playing shorter balls on the ground rather than fighting the wind. Again, many wasted opportunities and lack of finishing cost the Rangers and we had to settle with only one goal in the second half from Babs ghosting in on the left and whacking home a cross from Gary. Final score: 3-0

08.01.2022 And it's a win to the Masters! Having to play the first 20 minutes with only 10 players, the Central Park men knuckled down and controlled the game early with smart, direct balls that nullified the opposition's numerical advantage. Aaron and Rolo worked well together down back cutting off any Riversdale attacking runs while Rod and Rani knocked the ball around cleverly to put all the pressure on the away team. Almost as soon as a late Lars took to the field to give Central Pa...rk a complete team the ball was in the back of the net from a smart run down the left by Lars gave a simple tap-in for Neil at the back post. In the second half Rangers players got increasingly agitated with the young ref whose greatest contribution was bringing some mates who volunteered to be linesmen. Multiple yellow cards were issued to Rangers' players and the youthful ref was itching to issue a red. 15 minutes to go Riversdale equalised after stealing 4 meters on a free kick that slipped in under the bar just over big Chris' fingertips. To their credit the Central Park lads shut their mouths and pushed forward again. Neil again putting home a volley after a blinding run by Uti gave a corner. Final score 2-1 See more

08.01.2022 Today the Thirds travel to Cheltenham to take on Bayside Argonauts at Shipston Reserve at 1pm. The Masters will be searching for their first win at home at 1pm versus Middle Park. Good luck to both teams

06.01.2022 Both teams will be in action at home tomorrow. Get down to Central Park (corner of Wattletree and Bourke Roads, Malvern) to support the Thirds as they take on arch rivals Riversdale at 1pm. The Masters host Ashburton straight after at 3pm.

06.01.2022 3rds finished off their best season in recent memory with a 4-1 win over Casey yesterday. Bring on 2017!

04.01.2022 Mixed results for Central yesterday after both teams played away matches. Rangers trekked down the peninsula to face Frankston Pines on what can only be described as a cow paddock with goals. Rangers took the field with a risky 3-1-4-2 formation but the 3-man defence held well, stopping Frankston's attacks easily and efficiently. An arm wrestle ensued but unfortunately Rangers were unable to put away several 1 on 1 chances in the first half. Midway thru the second term, keep...er Tim was extremely unlucky to find a Frankston boot beat his hands to the ball on a second effort from a cracking reflex save and the score was to remain 0-1. A mighty effort considering midfielder Arash was stretchered from the field midway thru the second half with a suspected fractured leg and striker Brendan suffered an horrific Achilles' tendon snap as he steamed into the box all alone with the ball at his feet looking certain to score. Meanwhile the Masters had their first ever win over Middle Park. Lars scored 2 goals early giving Central a 2-1 lead at half time. The Over 35s then had to dig deep after they found themselves under siege early in the second half with Middle Park taking the lead with 2 hard fought goals. But it was Central's never-say-die attitude that was the difference, Lars finding the net for his hat trick with 5 minutes to go and a stoppage time goal to Neil meant the good guys walked away with the points.

04.01.2022 Congratulations Masters Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer...

03.01.2022 Masters back on the winners list! After a tight first half yielded no goals for either side, Central blitzed Templestowe with two quick goals after half time. First Uti was brought down in the box after a good passing move and Ted sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot. Central doubled their lead shortly after when Uti was played one on one with the keeper and finished calmly. A swag of yellow cards followed as the game developed some niggle.... Templestowe fought back to 1-2 with a header from a corner but any potential comeback was quickly thwarted as Central quickly regained control of the game with a goal straight from the kickoff. A fine passage of possession football culminated in Nish playing Uti through again. The keeper did well to block the first attempt but Uti reacted well to volley home the rebound under pressure from a defender. A good 1-3 away win by Central.

02.01.2022 You know it's going to be your day when your keeper scores. Well... ok, maybe it was an own goal but big Scott was credited with our second goal against Monash Uni today when his huge kick out of his hands went all the way down the other end only to be poorly headed by an opposition centre-back over their keeper and into the net. That was the story of the day when Rangers ventured out to Monash Uni Clayton. It ended up a pretty comfortable win with Ren and Brandon also getting on the scoresheet. Not only did Scott score but he was immense in goal pulling off a couple of acrobatic saves near the final whistle to insure another clean sheet. 3-0 to the good guys
