17.01.2022 Dear valued clients, it is now confirmed in writing by other associations as well as my own that remedial and myotherapy are non-essential services and any person or business continuing to practice is contravening public health orders and can be fined under that act. This is from massage and myotherapy Australia which has now acted by informing it's members today. All states will follow suit to this order soon.

17.01.2022 Good morning my dear valued clients! Just to let you know, the clinic will be closed for the Easter Break from the 19th (Good Friday) to the 29th of April. Business as usual from there on. Also, if you don't have an appointment already booked between now and Easter, then I'm afraid unless there is a cancellation, you won't be able to see me. I'm fully booked! ... 17.01.2022 Dear valued clients! There has been some confusion about who can and can not perform a massage service after the Premier's and Prime Minister's announcements this past week. Let me make it clearer for you. If the person you are seeing is NOT registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) like a physio, chiro, or osteopath would be, then NO MASSAGE SERVICE can be offered. They are the professions who can give you the 5 free visits under medicare if ...you need further clarification. Massage therapists, remedial massage therapists, and myotherapists are not registered with this body. We are not labelled as ALLIED HEALTH under the new definitions of this past year. Yes we can do private health fund claims, but not medicare. Therefore we are contravening the public health act if we continue to provide a massage service. That is the important difference. So if you are still trading as a remedial, myo, or massage therapist believing you are Allied Health and covered, think again. Fines are being issued already to anyone not registered through AHPRA who are still operating. And the fines are HUGE! Your safety is my main concern. At this stage I will be back operating as soon as the Health Department says I can be. We are all in this together, and together, by staying at home and social distancing we can beat this!.

14.01.2022 My dear valued clients! Today there has been some more confusion (surprise, surprise) about who can stay open and who has to close during stage 3 of the government's public health orders. What caused the confusion was the health department's update to their website on Friday. All they were doing was distinguishing remedial and therapeutic massage from 'massage' and massage parlours, recognising that we work in a clinic, not a shopping centre. That is all. ... In no way, shape, or form is it saying remedial or therapeutic massage businesses can stay open--or open if they have closed. ONLY ALLIED HEALTH providers can stay open, such as physios and podiatrists, etc can remain open at this stage. I hope this clears things up, as I have personally phoned the health department regarding this and they confirmed what I have said here.. 10.01.2022 Dear valued Clients of Central Park Remedial Therapy, Due to the recent COVID-19 (corona virus) pandemic, it is advised by the health department and my professional associationAustralian Massage Therapiststhat non-casual contact businesses such as mine suspend trade for an initial 14-day period as soon as possible to comply with the updated social distancing measures. I know this will affect you, my dear valued clients, but it also affects me greatly. My business is my fam...ily’s only source of income and shutting down for any length of time is a great financial burden. But I think of it this way: by doing so, I am protecting you, your family, and all the other people I see on a day to day basis in my clinic, some of whom fall into the vulnerable category (the elderly, those with diabetes, Parkinson’s, cancer, or with conditions that suppress their immune system). I will keep you all appraised if things change, but for now, I will be taking bookings once advised by the health department and my association that it is safe to do so. Hopefully, it will only be for the 14-day suspended period. When the suspended trade period is over, I hope all of you will continue to support me as you have been doing and keep making those bookings to see me. 09.01.2022 Dear Valued Clients, a few of you contacted me to clarify yesterday's post. So, here is the extended criteria for clinics who have myotherapists and remedial therapists within them (including home based businesses) to operate in Victoria as of THIS TIME. Also, all home-based clinics must be current members of their association as well as complying with all relevant guidelines for COVID-19 control (which is long and detailed). Remember, a clinic doing close contact would ha...ve to prove that the treatment was essential as well. As you can see by the highlighted areas in the screenshot below from the Department of Health's webpage there are a lot of things of concern. One of them: getting gloves, masks, PPE equipment, and other supplies needed to maintain hygiene right now is still difficult. My order of isopropyl alcohol, which I use to clean my surfaces between clients still hasn't arrived--and I ordered it on the 13th of March! As I said yesterday, my safety and that of my family is of utmost priority for me. It's just too risky right now to be open to the general public. Just because the states are talking about easing restrictions, doesn't mean restrictions on businesses have eased. In fact, they have got tougher and I don't think things will be the same for a long time. Again, thank you for your understanding. Clyde.

08.01.2022 Dear Valued Clients, at this stage it seems that once Stage 3 Lockdown restrictions are lifted on May 11th, I may be able to start taking bookings again. That's not to say I will be back at full capacity as there will be even stricter hygiene protocols to observe and longer times needed between clients to make sure the clinic is properly cleaned between people. Also, HICAPS payments onsite will be unavailable until further notice. If you have any concerns, you are more than... welcome to message or phone me. In the words of the Health Department below, by remaining closed I'm protecting my safety (being a home business), my families safety, and those of my clients, especially the more vulnerable. 07.01.2022 With the Premier, Daniel Andrews announcing today that all non-essential services, including schools, are to be shut down on Tuesday due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, the news is that for the foreseeable future "Central Park Remedial Therapy" will remain closed. Further advice will be provided by the Health Department and Health Minister as to when non-essential services can legally re-open! (but we are expecting 3-6 months before any real improvement is to be expected). To...ugh times are ahead for sole traders and self employed people, as well as everyone else, that's for sure. My professional association and myself will continue to petition our politicians to consider those in the same position as me. We have already undertaken 2 campaigns in as many weeks. Let's hope they listen as they roll out each stimulus package and every Australian is considered for aid. I am so sorry about this, my dear valued clients, but this is out of my hands now.
