22.01.2022 A reminder that private swimming pools and spas must be registered with the City of Greater Bendigo by June 1, 2020 in line with new Victorian Government legisl...ation introduced in December last year. Under the new mandatory requirements all swimming pools and spas that fall within the requirements of the Act must have a compliant barrier in place and must be registered with their local Council. Broadly, these include all permanent pools and spas and most relocatable pools and relocatable spas capable of holding a depth of water greater than 300mm. 18.01.2022 Are you looking to buy your first home? While this is an expensive process, don’t cut costs by not having an electrical inspection conducted by a qualifies ele...ctrician. Most people are happy to have a pest inspection done- but isn’t the wiring of your home more important? After all, it’s not worth the risk of electrocution if you try to DIY your electrical systems (not to mention it’s illegal). During a home electrical inspection our team will inspect the following: 1. Is the wiring up to scratch? If it’s old, has had dangerous DIY wiring, or simply isn’t to code; this could greatly increase the risk of a house fire. 2. Is all of the wiring up to code? Again, there is an increased risk of fire if the wiring isn’t up to code; as well as the fact that most insurance companies will not honour your claims if the wiring is found to be short of the current building codes. 3. Do you have enough power points? This might seem like a silly question; but do you have enough power points for your lifestyle? From charging devices, to larger fridges; through to microwaves, kettles and toasters all being in the same central station of a kitchen. Don’t use double adapters- get more power points or power boards (with safety features of course!). It may seem an extra cost, but if you get an electrician to check your house over before you sign, and you can be sure that any electrical issues will be identified (and quotes given to rectify any problems). It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind for your home. If you (or someone you know) is looking to buy their first home (or any home), tell them to give Sam a call on 0412 513 222. #FirstHomeBuyers #ElectricalSafety #GetItChecked #ElectricianBendigo #OnTime #OnCall #OnBudget
