25.01.2022 CWDG SOCIAL DOUBLES UPDATE! A great crowd of 20 (if you include the baby) gathered this afternoon at Molong Golf course for a round of social doubles as the storms circled around. Welcome to Jo, Reniece and David on their first doubles afternoon. Hot round of the day went to Team Neville with the father/daughter pairing of Trent and Claire shooting a sizzling 5 under on the 9 hole red layout. They were closely followed by David and Shani on 4 under with two other groups in ho...t pursuit on 3 under. Huge shout out to the legend that is Scotty P who (only a matter of days after witnessing his first ever Ace) sank one of his own on the tricky uphill hole 2 with a beautful LHBH turnover to shave the conifer and slam into the chains. Congrats on that mate! Well deserved. A reminder that this Sunday is our monthly League Day, so see you out there! See more

25.01.2022 A great post from the ADG - check it out! Looking forward to tomorrow...and just to spice things up we will be doing an optional $2 Ace Pot, with the current pot around $200 and further to this our ADG National President Luke Turmbull (all stand and face the outer suburbs of Newcastle) is offering any non-PDGA registered player who hits an Ace a one-year PDGA membership. Extra incentive to get out there and bang in an Ace (plus you will be immortalised on the CWDG Hall of Fame beside Scott Oates).

25.01.2022 AUSSIE DISC GOLF DAY 2020- DUBBO. A great day at Dubbo as a team from Central West Disc Golf headed up as part of 600 players taking part in this great, innovative format. The course was in magnificent condition with credit to Brett and his team on the work they did to make it look so great. The first round saw temperatures reach the forecast 39 degrees (with a couple of players having to withdraw due to heat). The second round saw very different conditions as gale force wind...s howled through as storms threatened to swamp us. When the final scores came in CWDG players dominated the awards. Kevin Costa took out the Overall Champion with an 8 under par score from Andrew and Brett of Dubbo on par and 1 over. Our own Claire Neville took out the overall Junior, Sharon Costa the overall Women's prize, Simon Wright took the non-PDGA rated male and Diana Philpott the Women's Handicap prize. A special mention to Diana and Sharon who sank two massive putts of over 30 metres...great shooting ladies. A great achievement from our little club. Thanks again for the Dubbo guys on this magnificent day. Look out Molong we are bringing home a massive 5 rhino heads (yes the coolest trophies in the Disc Golf world). 24.01.2022 The Molong Cup is done for another year! A great day of Disc Golf was had by all at the Molong Disc Golf Course yesterday. A huge field from across the Central West turned out on a beautiful day, with clear skies and light winds. Two rounds of 14 holes around a challenging extended layout (including 4 completely new holes) saw some great scores carded, as well as many a frustrated Disc Golfer. A final round of 6 Blue Holes (including the infamous Blue 2 AKA "That Dam hole") f...or our best 4 scores saw a good sized gallery following the action on a stunning October afternoon as Kevin (Molong), Andrew (Dubbo), Trent (Molong) and Chris (Orange) drove and putted their way to CWDG glory. Stepping up to the final hole of the playoff saw Chris & Trent tied for third place, with a wayward putt on the pretty finishing hole sealing the result. Once again the degree of community support was impressive with sponsorship and support from Molong Real Estate, Platypus Cafe, Freemasons Hotel, Molong Meats, McDonald and Cheesecake Co helping to make the day a huge success. The incredible work which members of the Molong Golf Course put into helping in the preparation of the course and running the bar is also very much appreciated. On the day we had three players taking part in their first ever organised round and so well done to Bob, Mitch and Bec...with a particular mention to Bec who played her first ever round of Disc Golf on this challenging course. All divisions were well represented, with a strong junior division boding well for the future of the sport here in the Central West. In the end we had great shooting from players in every division with final places in each division as follows: Men's Division 2: 1st Tim Roberts (+8), 2nd Justin Oates (+10), 3rd Lenny Punch (+15) Women's Division 2: 1st Sharni Neville (+32), 2nd Fiona Ball (+44), 3rd Kerry Oates(+56) Mixed Junior: 1st Claire Neville (+17), 2nd Noah Mathews (+37), 3rd Will Matthews (+38) Female Division 1: 1st Sharon Costa (+18) 2nd Diana Philpott (+25), 3rd Erin Oates (+42) Men's Division 1: 1st Kevin Costa (-9), 2nd Andrew Bateup (0), 3rd Chris Loog(+3) The Molong Cup will now become an annual event, which we hope to be open to any wishing to compete (assuming COVID restrictions ease), as well as an annual winter event "The Central West Cold Snap", with our monthly League Days and Social Days continuing to help strengthen the Disc Golf Scene here in the Central West. 21.01.2022 CWDG OCTOBER LEAGUE DAY. With forecasts of heavy rain and a number of our regulars unavailable we still managed to get together a very impressive 21 players for this month's League Day. Despite the forecasts there was no hint of rain and quite a few sunny periods, although the gusty wind certainly played a part in the day's shooting. Welcome to Jo and Jacqui on their first ever League Day, with both carding very impressive first rounds. Also big shout out to David from Jindab...yne and Andrew from Dubbo who traveled to take part in the day. 18 holes were played by all, taking in the 9 public red holes and the 9 tricky blue holes. In the washup quite a few players shot below their handicaps with special mentions to Lily, Trent & Andrew, who each shot 3 below their handicaps; Erin and Claire, who each shot 4 below their handicap; Noah, who shot 5 below his handicap and Diana, who shot 6 below her handicap to finish with a personal best 7 over par scratch score, But the big prize for the day went to young Will who shot an incredible 16 better than his handicap to take the prize of a $30 meat voucher from Molong Meats. Two CTP prizes were on offer today with Diana taking out the ladies/junior prize to take home a $20 McDonalds Voucher and Scott Oates, who took home the Men's CTP on the tough hole 5 with the final throw of the day to collect a great prize pack from PJ's Jerky. Three players carded scratch scores below par with Chris and Andrew finishing with 2 under par scores and Kevin carding the hot round of the day with a 10 under par score to equal the course record. 21.01.2022 CWDG SOCIAL DOUBLES DISC GOLF will start up again next Thursday 5th of November at 5:30pm at the Molong Golf Course. We will be playing a 9 hole best-shot round on the Red layout, with beginners paired with an experienced player. This short afternoon round is suitable for everyone, even if you have never player before. Costing just $2 to play this is always a super fun and gentle way to get into this great sport. 15.01.2022 FUN ON THE DISC GOLF COURSE. CWDG today hosted a great, fun Disc Golf birthday event for Kellie, who chose to travel to Molong from the Blue Mountains to have a crack at this great new sport that she had heard so much about and to spend time in our beautiful little town. She celebrated with a group of family and friends at the Molong course, with instruction provided by Sharon and Kevin, with Kerry and Erin running the bar. Despite a bit of rain a fun time was had by all with some real skill shown by a few of our visitors (and perhaps a few converts). Happy birthday Kellie and thanks for choosing to spend your day with us.

For those of you looking for great coffee or food and excellent, high-quality accommodation The Platypus is the place to go (we have become cafe regulars and cannot rave enough about how great a scene they have set up there). Jock and the team have put a huge amount of work into the former Cudal Motel and turned it into a high quality accommodation option in the region.- definitely worth a drive!

06.01.2022 As we enter the final 2 days before the Molong Cup we are starting to get player's packs sorted. We have just taken possession of our stamped event discs- a range of beautiful discs from our good friends at RPM Discs in NZ with custom stamp designed by CWDG and printed locally by Geoff at Inktegrity. They look great and will fly even greater (that is assuming they don't go straight to the pool room). If you live in the Central West and have yet to register what are waiting for? 05.01.2022 CWDG December League Day 2020 Results. A fantastic turnout of 30 people (including 10 first-timers - Jan, Valter, Micha, Steve, Blair, Drew, Liz, Lachlan, Mitch and Grant) made for a great final League Day for 2020. 18 hole layout was played (9 red followed by 9 blue) with a group starting on every hole. Some fantastic shooting saw some impressive rounds carded with Kerry Oates and Scott Philpott shooting 4 below their handicaps, young Will Mathews and Sharni Neville shooti...ng 5 below their handicaps and Erin Oates shooting a superb 6 below her handicap. The big prize of the day went to young star Lydia Philpott who shot an impressive 9 below her handicap. CTB prizes went to Sharon for the ladies, Lydia for the juniors and first time League Day player Micha who took out the CTB prize for the men. Hot scratch rounds of the day went to Kevin C with a 9 below par, closely followed by former Estonian Junior National Champion Jan, who carded an 8 under on his first Molong League Day appearance, Andrew on 3 under and Chris on 1 under. A special mention to Anni who managed to hit an Ace in her practice prior to the round - unfortunately this did not count for the Ace Pot (which is now over $300), but was very impressive none the less. The round was followed up with a social BBQ, drinks and Christmas Rum Balls (good onya Bob). Thankyou to all who took part in our League Days throughout the year, assisted with club events and working bees and helped us to continue to grow this great sport here in the Central West.
