21.01.2022 You should speak to your conveyancer as early as possible, ideally before you look for a property or before you decide to put your property on the market. Never... sign anything before consulting your conveyancer. If you are asked to sign a contract, request a copy of the contract first. Your conveyancer can then review the contract with you before you sign. There is no such thing as a standard contract. https://www.aicnsw.com.au/for-the-communi/general-questions

17.01.2022 COVID-19 Pandemic - No excuse for Domestic Violence Domestic violence is a crime and the fact that it occurs during a declared pandemic is irrelevant. The COVID...-19 pandemic will never be an excuse for incidents of domestic violence, and police will continue to exercise zero tolerance for domestic violence. Perpetrators will continue to be targeted and monitored, and support will continue to be given to victims. Police remind the community that everyone has a responsibility to report domestic violence. During the pandemic police will continue to complete Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) Compliance Checks as normal. If police are of the view that defendants should be removed from their residence to ensure the safety of victims and their children, they will remove the offenders using their powers of arrest and/or imposing appropriate ADVO conditions. This will not change during the pandemic. Police are closely monitoring the rates of domestic violence offending, and have the ability to immediately increase the protective conditions of an existing ADVO and will do so if required. The new legislation allows an extension of the length of a provisional ADVO from 28 days up to a maximum of six months when required. Contact numbers for assistance: 1800RESPECT or Orange Police Station on 02 6363 6399.
17.01.2022 UPDATE: ATO Advisory re FRCGTW Clearance Certificates The ATO has issued the following advisory: The ATO has been receiving several enquiries about delays in re...ceiving clearance certificates for the foreign resident capital gains withholding obligations. The ATO’s service standard for processing these applications is 28 days. Tips to prevent delays to settlement: - Lodge applications for clearance certificates as early as possible we recommend lodging an application when the property goes up for sale, rather than waiting for a contract to be signed. Certificates are current for 12 months. - If you wait for a contract to be signed before getting the certificate, remember to include the additional 28 days processing to get the certificate in time for settlement. There are no guarantee applications for certificates will be processed before that timeframe. - Applications for non-individuals, such as companies take longer to process, this means the ATO may need the full 28-day processing period. When applications need manual intervention, it can affect processing times. If settlement is within 28 days and you haven’t received the clearance certificate and want the ATO to prioritise the application, the vendor needs to provide evidence before settlement that they will suffer financial hardship. What to do if you don’t get a clearance certificate: - If vendors don’t have a valid clearance certificate at or before settlement, purchasers must withhold 12.5% of the purchase price and remit it to the ATO. - If it’s a new residential property that’s subject to GST at settlement, the purchaser must also withhold the GST amount and remit it to the ATO with Form two. These two withholding obligations occur separately but operate together. If you have any questions about the application process, phone the ATO on 13 28 66 Fast Key Code 4 2 within Australia or +61 26216 1111 outside Australia.

Thousands of legal documents are executed every day in the presence of one or more witnesses, but COVID-19 restrictions have made it difficult for many people to do so in person, Mr Speakman said. 15.01.2022 Today, InfoTrack has again been named a leading innovator in technology on the 2020 The Australian Financial Review (AFR) BOSS Most Innovative Companies List ac...ross Australia and New Zealand for its video verification of identity solution, WebVOI. Our very proud CEO John Ahern said This award represents our commitment to developing innovative solutions that anticipate the changing needs of our clients, and through COVID-19, our innovation became a necessity overnight. Social distancing and remote working meant that lawyers, conveyancers and financiers were unable to complete identity verification checks face to face, and as such, at the height of COVID-19, usage of WebVOI grew 260% and this growing trend continues. We are proud to continually support the legal profession and be rewarded for our commitment to innovation. #LeadingInnovatorInLegalTechnology #MoreThanJustAnApple #MostInnovativeCompanies #AFR

10.01.2022 SCAM ALERT! We’ve had several reports of scammers calling people from what appear to be trusted NSW Police Force numbers and threatening the call recipients wit...h fines or arrest. These scammers are using technology to make it appear that the calls originate from legitimate police phone numbers; a practice known as ID spoofing. The caller impersonates a NSW Police Force officer and states that the person receiving the call has an outstanding fine or warrant. The scammer demands a form of payment to prevent arrest or further court action. The NSW Police Force will never call a member of the public and demand payment over the phone in order to avoid going to court or being arrested. If you get an unexpected call from someone who states they're from the police, and starts asking for personal details or threatens you, please hang up. If you’re concerned, you can always verify by contacting your local police or the Police Assistance Line directly on 131 444. To find out more information about scams, or to find out other ways to protect yourself, visit www.scamwatch.gov.au. If you have been the victim of a scam, you can report it to local police or to the ACCC online at the ‘SCAMwatch report a scam’ page.

07.01.2022 In a recent article published by The Australian Financial Review, our very own CEO John Ahern said I hear the industry described as archaic, but the truth is t...hey’re not... They just don’t put up with average technology. They wait until it substantially adds value and then they adopt. Our video verification of identity solution is the only product on the market using multiple methods working together to confirm a person’s identity to ensure a person is who they say they are. This comes at a great time, where threats of cybercrime have become increasingly alarming. 05.01.2022 Wow. Thank you to you all. We have clicked over 1000 likers and followers and are teult humbled. Welcome to our new likers. Here is what we are: Ohana Lodge is... a short to mid term fully self contained accommodation on our 5 acre property in Hallsville, North West NSW AUSTRALIA near Tamworth. We are Kate, Troy, Will (9) & Huddy (8). We are a family of 4. We came about after Kate after 16 years was medically discharged from Police due to PTSD from trauma related cases. A huge loss to no longer have ones identity and to be discarded by what many think of as the Blue Family to discover there is NO BLUE FAMILY. Ohana Lodge came about in irony. In the Disney movie Lilo & Stitch, Ohana means family and family means nobody is left behind or forgotten. Both forgotten and left behind Kate was being medically discharged after a 2 year fight to have her injury recognised as workers compensation. Never forgotten or left behind is our daily motto. Because of this we offer free stays to ex and current Australia defence personnel as our way of saying THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE and so they never think they are forgotten and we have their back. We are passionate about Suicide prevention and discussion, PTSD education and Autism awareness. We are a farming family with Troy farming for 25 years at his farms at Walcha and Nowendoc and bred Angus and Red Angus Beef cattle and Dorper Sheep. We were smashed by drought. Lost a lot of stock as a result of bogged dams etc. We endured bushfires last Summer and looking at diversifing and are adding Pig farming to our CV. We plan on breeding Tamworth, Large White, Landrace and Hampshire pigs for the pork industry. Our 5 acres is a funny farm with a range of livestock and animals from our Donkeys Eddie & Murphy to our turkeys Dolly Pardon and Tom Hanks to our working dogs Lilo & Stitch to guinea pigs rabbits chickens ducks cats geese guinea fowl sheep goats cows alpaca etc. We post about our farm, animals and accommodation and life events. We attempt to keep it real and are open and honest folk. So thats us in a nutshell....... Welcome to the OHANA FAMILY xxxx
05.01.2022 #COVID19 Frequently asked questions Q: How can I commemorate ANZAC Day at home this year? A: Sadly, in person ANZAC Day services and ceremonies have been cancel...led this year. Attending war memorials and cenotaphs to lay wreaths will not be possible. However, heres a list of ideas you can do to keep the ANZAC spirit alive: - Watch the NSW Police Force Band perform a short ANZAC Day service on our Facebook page at 5am. - Light up the dawn. At 6am on ANZAC Day, go to the end of your driveway or stand on your balcony and listen to a brief commemorative service. You can sign the pledge to light up the dawn at rslanzacspirit.com.au - Bake some ANZAC biscuits. 04.01.2022 Imagine working on something for nine years. That’s the length of the entire series of Seinfeld. For our foreign bribery investigators, that’s how long they sp...ent to secure an arrest for Op TRIG. Yesterday, they arrested one man in Brisbane, and issued a further two arrest warrants, relating to approximately USD $77.6 million in suspicious payments. We allege these were made by a company to secure two contracts for developing and installing oil pipelines to increase the capacity of Iraq’s crude oil export. A team of dedicated AFP investigators spent much of the past nine years obtaining statements from witnesses based around the world, seizing more than two million documents, and gathering evidence held in 10 different countries. They persevered in piecing together this jigsaw, and have now reached a point where these serious allegations can be tested in court.
