19.01.2022 And our Presidents Award recipient, Ethan Wilmott. Eth received this award based on his leadership qualities, strong involvement with volunteering with the club, the amount of respect he has earned from his peers, and his ability to lead by example and do all he can to help his team mates on the field. The epitome of what you want in a footy player and team mate. A young man who helps lift the club and those around them.... Congrats skipper!
18.01.2022 What a fantastic day Sunday was! We had a great turn out, plenty of laughs and celebrated skill, talent and leadership throughout all of our teams from U6s through to U17s. We are more than just teams of Blue and White. We are a community - a family. Our coaches help and support one other, and our players cheer each other on. The older kids take the younger ones under their wings and if you ask for help our teenagers are the first to raise their hands and offer. We ...are so proud of this culture and it is what we want to see more and more of. Special thank you to the Mac Bain, and McMiles families as well as Jess Ford and Anne Caves. These guys arrived, rolled up their sleeves and helped in any way that they could throughout the day. Without people like you guys, and the committee of volunteers we just couldn’t make days like Sunday happen - Thank you Sunday was the perfect way to end a weird, wild and wacky season. Parents running in relay races, President Mango trying to impress the teenagers with some bad Dad jokes, and a grandstand full of support and laughter. Roll on 2021 when we get to do it all over again

06.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that at the recent AGM meeting Phillip Blackford was awarded Life Member of Central Charlestown JRLFC. Phil has been Manager of our U17s since they were U9s. Unlike most Managers who stand quietly on the sidelines, Phil is well known in the Rugby League community for his 'passionate' advice that he offers during games Phil has also been a long-time committee member and our Club Treasurer for the past 5 years! Phil is an asset to our committee and... the club and without people as dedicated as him, community sport just wouldn't be possible. He may have earnt himself the nickname 'blisters' over the years for only showing up once the hard grafting had been complete but Phil has always been someone that every member of the committee and his coaching team and players can rely on. On receiving his Life Member award for outstanding service Phil spoke of how the opportunity of being part of a team and committee within our club has given him the pleasure of watching the kids grow from little boys into fine young men, which he has thoroughly enjoyed. We thank you Phil for everything you have done for Central over the past 9 years and we hope to continue to see you around at St John (..even if it is a bit later in the day )
06.01.2022 Last night we had the pleasure of hosting Lyndon Sheppard from Play Rugby League Central Coast/Hunter/Newcastle and our very own Butcher Birds for a Come & Try day aimed specifically at girls wanting to try Rugby League. It was a fantastic afternoon of fun and footy and we are delighted to announce that thanks to a NSW government grant we are now able to offer FREE rego to every girl that registers with us for the 2021 season! This includes (but not limited to) training kit, ...playing jersey shorts and socks and full registration and insurance! Our hope is that by running great events like this we can encourage more female participation in our sport.
