20.01.2022 A busy Saturday evening for our Brigade last night as both appliances were responded to multiple jobs. Just before 6pm, both Tuggerah appliances and multiple ot...her local brigades including Fire and Rescue NSW responded to a structure fire in Jilliby. On arrival, crews in breathing apparatus got to work extinguishing a fully involved shed. Crews remained on scene for hours until the incident was completed. Shortly after 10pm, whilst both appliances were returning to our station, a fire call was received for Geoffrey Rd, Chittaway Point. Crews responded and discovered a recreational fire from a private residence and no further action was required. Before making it back to the station, crews were responded again for a reported MVA with persons trapped at Pacific Hwy x Old Tuggerah Rd, Kangy Angy. On arrival, a vehicle was found on its side and all 4 occupants had been able to remove themselves from the vehicle. Luckily there were only minor injuries that were seen to by NSW Ambulance. #NSWRFS #tuggerahrfb #centralcoast

08.01.2022 Today marks the anniversary of the tragic death of NSW RFS volunteer Colin Burns. Colin lost his life on his property at Belowra, as he was making his way to th...e local fire shed to help protect local residents who were sheltering from fires. Colin was a long time member of the Belowra Brigade in the NSW RFS Far South Coast Team, initially joining in the late 1980s. We remember Colin and our hearts go out to his family, friends and fellow volunteers today.
