22.01.2022 The metal insets are part of the Montessori Language Curriculum and are a learning tool used to prepare children for writing. Working with the metal insets teaches children to develop their pencil grip, refine their fine motor skills and learn how to draw within an outline, which is the material’s control of error. In addition, the metal insets encourage children to challenge their imagination as they create artistic designs. Interacting with these shapes and colours also lay the foundation for future work in Geometry.

08.01.2022 Times have changed, and science has made great progress, and so has our work; but our principles have only been confirmed, and along with them our conviction that mankind can hope for a solution to its problems, among which the most urgent are those of peace and unity, only by turning its attention and energies to the discovery of the child and to the development of the great potentialities of the human personality in the course of its formation. - Maria Montessori

05.01.2022 At some given moment it happens that the child becomes deeply interested in a piece of work; we see it in the expression on his face, his intense concentration, the devotion to the exercise. - Maria Montessori

01.01.2022 After eating snacks, the children are responsible for cleaning the area and re-setting the table for the next group of friends. If teaching is to be effective with young children, it must assist them to advance on the way to independence. It must initiate them into those kinds of activities which they can perform themselves and which keep them from being a burden to others because of their inabilities. We must help them to learn how to walk without assistance, to run, to go up and down stairs, to pick up fallen objects, to dress and undress, to wash themselves, to express their needs in a way that is clearly understood, and to attempt to satisfy their desires through their own efforts. All this is part of an education for independence. - Maria Montessori
