25.01.2022 I am happy to say that we are Covid Safe

18.01.2022 How awesome is this! @bigwaustralia and their free books for kids program this week are handing out one of my favourite books as a kid. @sesamestreet The monster at the end of this book. Fun fact my parents still have this book today it’s over 40 years old and has been read and loved by their 5 children and 8 grand children. While the hard board cover of the golden book may now resemble something of an ancient script & the pages show the signs of ware and tear the book remai...ns held together with love & memories. The funnest part of this story is reading it out loud in grovers voice! #childhoodmemories #sesamestreet #grover #themonsterattheendofthisbook #bigw #freebooksforkids #literacy #literacymatters #literacycoaches #educationaltherapist #dyslexia #dyslexiaawareness #dyslexiaeducation #dyslexiatherapy #dyslexiaadvocate #tuggerah #marinerscentreofexcellence See more

14.01.2022 ADHD is so very real and just simply giving a person with ADHD a pill does not mean they are fixed. Imagine trying to watch television when the reception is dodgy. You miss parts of the show, you are trying to figure out what is going on, you get frustrated and eventually give up, turn the TV off and walk away. Now imagine that that television is a teacher in a classroom and it’s not a show but a class. Our little people struggle every day in the classroom with dodgy recep...tion. That is until we get a diagnosis. However, when medicated, it can allow for moments of clarity but it does not mean they automatically know what’s happening in the show sometimes they have missed 3-4 seasons and now they have to catch up, and they have to do so with no access to on demand programs. Students and people with ADHD are far from stupid. Some of the most creative and wonderful minds in the world have ADHD. What we must do is give those students time to catch up and not be ignorant to the diagnosis. Medication will not make their brain functioning change over night. It is not a snap of the fingers and suddenly they are are appropriate with their learning. It is up to us to accomodate and adapt our environments to allow them to blossom and shine. #learning #learningdifference #specificlearningdifficulties #adhd #adhdawareness #adhdproblems #adhdbrain #adhdsupport #literacymatters #literacycentre #learningforlife See more

10.01.2022 Because the human brain doesn’t come already wired to read, there is no reading center of the brain and there are no reading genes. Each individual brain must learn how to read on its own.
